Good amount tackled on Ramona today
All the bed is in paint and looking awesome !
Some work to get them panels straight after stripping them but look sweet.
Engine removed again, mounts welded in and frame stripped ready for painting

Busy couple of days bare metal-ing panels that have micro blistered. Pain in the arse as it was super straight 😥
Then coated in epoxy primer, then high build.
Drilled out the bed side panel bed runners and elevated them 3 inches so the wooden bed in the rear will clear the notch fitted on the frame above the rear axle. Still a decent depth bed without having a random bump in the bed

More panels in epoxy primer today. Bonnet has been prepped and painted on the underside ready for the top to be done next

Slow progress this week
The trucks always had real nice paint but over time living in Cornwall, microblistering has gotten to it most likely down to previous prep stages. If we paint it without removing it, it will come back through the new paint so stripping it all back.
Engine mounts have been fabbed and the engines in place and gives us an idea of space for mounting the turbos.
Next step is to remove strip and clean the engine with some tastey new bits and me and Dave will crack on getting all the panels prepped

Always said if we ever repainted Ramona, it would be in a green as its factory colour was green. Here’s what we picked. San remo green. A bmw colour it looks epic

50s truck doors are always horrid with the clunky star drive catches. Upgraded to modern catches and door trimmed to shut properly. Not bad for 75 years old !

Few jobs on the gmc today. Bed removed for prep and paint, the doors have never shut properly so a bit of cutting and molesting and now closes like a champ !
Few bits of bubbling under the belt line so stripped the paint back and rust treated to keep that s**t at bay.
Looking forward to getting this tank back out on the road
