We would like to give a grateful 'shout out' to Country Connect for their generous offer of Communications & Broadband support following the fire on the Star Trading Estate.

With remarkable speed and attention to detail, they took just a few hours to get us up and running in our temporary reception with a high-speed fibre broadband connection, allowing us to operate full telephone & internet access on the same day that the office unit was delivered. AMAZING !

UPDATE from AJ GARAGE SERVICES following the devastating fire on the Star Trading Estate earlier this month.

We have established a Temporary Drop Off Point just inside the gates of the Star Trading Estate (See photo) following the fire on the trading estate at the start of the month.

Access to the site is still restricted for the general public (including our customers), so we have set up this temporary reception for all customers to drop off and collect their vehicles. Deliveries can also be made to this office.

All telephone, email & WhatsApp channels are open thanks to the amazing "Country Connect", who have installed a complete broadband service for us in the temporary office.

Thanks to Country Connect and thanks to all our regular customers for their understanding and patience.

One week on from the Fire... UPDATE

AJ Garage Services is operational and open for business.

However, we have been advised by the management at Star Trading Estate that the entire estate will be closed this coming weekend for necessary repairs and clearance work to take place in the wake of the fire.

AJ Garage will therefore be closed this weekend (8th/9th August) and reopen for normal business on Monday 10th August.

We remain contactable in an emergency on our usual Out-of-Hours & Rescue Hotline (07300 975914).

Thank you to all our customers, neighbours, suppliers and friends for their understanding and continued support.

WE ARE OPERATIONAL
OUR WORKSHOPS ARE OPERATIONAL.
If you need vehicles serviced & repaired. Please do give us a call. We are contactable by Telephone, Email, Messenger & WhatsApp.
Our Rescue & Recovery Service is also fully operational. . So if you have broken down or need remote help... CALL US.
Customer access to our office & workshops is restricted (because we are close to the aftermath of last weekend's fire) but we have set up a temporary customer reception in the car park of Kites Nursery at the entrance of the Star Trading Estate.
(Our grateful thanks to the Management & Staff at Kites for their support.)
Please don't hesitate to call, email or drop in to our temporary reception.
We don't want to let down our regular customers, and we do need to get back up to normal speed & service as soon as we can. All our staff are back at work doing an outstanding job under challenging circumstances (Thanks Boys!)
Finally, Thanks to all our suppliers, industry competitors and others for their generous offers of help.

AJ Garage Update - 3pm Saturday.

The Fire & Rescue activity is dying down and most tenders and fire engines have left the site. However, there is still a strong presence of both Fire & Police dealing with the aftermath.

Access to the entire Trading Estate site is heavily restricted. In discussion with the senior Police Commander, we have been told that the site will certainly remain closed today. The main concern is the integrity of the building which caught fire - up to and including our Drive Through MOT Bay which lost its roof. The Police commander recognises that all business on the estate want access to inspect the damage to their properties, but he is primarily concerned about safety. He suggested that access may be allowed by lunch time tomorrow ( Sunday).

Thank you to everyone (customers, suppliers & friends) for their concern and offers of assistance throughout the day. There is little that any of us can do at the moment until we gain full access and guidance regarding our staff's safety.

We would like to make clear that we are only one of many businesses affected. We do not consider ourselves to be special in regard to this devistating calamity. We are damaged but will quickly be able to re-start when safe to do so. We empathise with all the other businesses affected - many with more severe damage than our own.

We hope that this update is useful to our customers in the local Caerleon & Ponthir community.

We will post a further update tomorrow morning.

Thanks to everyone that has been in touch regarding this morning's serious fire at Star Trading Estate.

The Fire Brigade are still in full control of the entire Eatate at the moment, but a couple of our staff have been on site to assess the situation. The Fire Brigade have worked tirelessly and they have managed to minimise the impact on AJ’s units.

We can tell you that we have suffered damage to our MOT Bay, but virtually all of our workshops, stores & garage equipment are intact and unaffected. We WILL be operational as soon as we get authorisation from the site Fire & Rescue Commander. However, normal business is unlikely to be restored until early next week.

Any cars that were on site were away from the fire area, so thankfully unaffected.

We have remote access to our computer systems, and our staff are currently contacting customers booked in over the coming days or expecting to collect vehicles.
We will be working hard to ensure that we are back up and running as soon as we are given the go ahead by the Fire Brigade.

Please be assured that contrary to some social media posts circulating, AJ’s will be back open as soon as we are permitted to do so.
