Please Note !!!
All over night drivers, no I can’t have you park here, no I can’t let you in for a shower and no I can’t just bang something in the microwave. The site is shut, gone and keys handed back to land lord, it’s no longer anything to do with me, I’m just a tenant living here for the foreseeable future until I find something else where

Newport City Truckstop - Santini’s
Unfortunately the time has come a little bit earlier than planned. I’ve decided to close up !!!
Tonight will be the last night of parking, and tomorrow morning will be the last breakfast shift. I can’t say I’ve loved every minute because it’s been hard work, hard on my health and also hard on my family. But I swear I wouldn’t have done anything different. I’ve got thousands of fond memories of you drivers, I’ve laughed with so many, I’ve cried with a few of you too. Those who know me other than the gobby foul mouthed fat bird at Newport will know how hard this is for me. I’ve got no regrets other than I wish I could have stayed a bit longer to catch up with the drivers I’ve not seen in a while.
In the famous words of Rocky “every champion was once a contender who refused to give up” and because of you all, I’m a champion, thank you for all your support over the years. Will miss you all ###

I’m posting on behalf of my best friend Mandi because she’s still prossecing what’s she’s going through!
Can we please not message and harass asking mandi about the cafe - please asking who the landlord is and what’s going to happen with the cafe, please have a bit of respect and let mandi go through the process in her head she doesn’t need Aholes messaging her asking questions this cafe has been 10+ years of her life please leave her in peace and let her get her head around the whole situation!!! Thank you!!!!!

I’m not sure how to post this, I’ve had a few weeks to get my head around so here it goes. Unfortunately it’s time to hang my apron up. With the high cost of running the truck stop and fewer drivers staying over night, damage and repairs,I can no longer afford to keep the doors open. I’m heart broken as the last 10 years have been amazing !!!
I’ve met some wonderful people who have walked through these doors, some are sadly no longer with us.
All my kids have been a part of the truck stop and my grandkids know no other nanny apart from nanny at the truck stop.
I worried the day I opened the doors, what if I couldn’t make a go of it, I kept plugging away day by day, through a fire, through a pandemic and through illness.
Thank you to all the staff past and present, you’ve made it worth while.
Thanks to jo who is staying to the end and Julie for sending all the lovely drivers my way, and Hannah for keeping me sane the last few weeks when all I wanted to do was cry that I failed. Our last day will be 28th June, please keep popping in so we can say good bye. Thank you everyone and hope to keep in touch with you all ###x
