We’d like to apologise for the lack of consistency with our posts over the past week. Family run business = lots of us on holiday at the same time😂 but we’re back and looking forward to getting back to our usual schedule with plenty of garage updates and content to share with you🔧🚗 So for now here is a bunch of photos the boys sent us whilst we were away!

🔧 Mini Cooper Turbo Removal 🔧

Another job completed in the workshop! 👨‍🔧

We removed the turbocharger from this Mini Cooper for inspection and replacement. The turbo plays an important role in delivering the engine’s boost and maintaining performance, so when issues occur i.e. Excessive smoke and extra consumption of oil, it’s important to have it checked before further damage is caused.

Another job completed and another vehicle getting back on the road! 🚗💨

Cambelt & Water Pump Kit replacement completed on this Mercedes-Benz A-Class 👌🔧 We stripped everything down, removed the old components and fitted a complete new cambelt and water pump kit, ensuring everything was correctly timed and tensioned before reassembly. 🛠️ A cambelt is vital to the engine’s operation, so replacing it and the water pump together is a great way to help keep the engine running reliably and prevent potentially costly damage. ✅

Unit 4 Mot & Service Center has sold our sister branch, JCR Mechanical Services, and the business has now been taken over by new ownership.

As a result of this change, JCR Mechanical Services is no longer connected or affiliated with Unit 4 Mot & Service Center in any way. Any future business, services or dealings carried out by JCR Mechanical Services are completely separate from Unit 4.

We would also like to reassure all of our valued customers that Unit 4 Cwmbran and Unit 4 Newport remain fully operational and continue to trade as normal.

Another job completed in the workshop! 🚗💨

This vehicle came in with a possible wheel bearing fault, after a full inspection and a test drive we diagnosed it to be an issue with the main shaft in the gearbox, so we removed the existing units and we fitted a fully reconditioned gearbox and a brand new clutch kit before carefully refitting everything back onto the vehicle.

The clutch and gearbox are vital components of your vehicle’s drivetrain, allowing power from the engine to be transferred smoothly to the wheels. Worn or damaged components can lead to difficulty changing gears, clutch slipping, juddering, unusual noises and, if left too long, potentially a breakdown.

Another vehicle checked over, repaired and ready to get back on the road! 👨‍🔧🔩
