A trip to Tunbridge wells. .
Service for this daily used, outside dwelling 100 . The customer has owned this for over 30yrs and still gets it MOTd.

Took this for a test drive today as is due the dreaded MOT.....
A few little faults ironed out. Going to order a new set of numberplates next and hopefully it will pass!

So the lovely little Standard 8 did not need too much at all.
Adjusted/cleaned points and plugs. Tweak of timing and carb. Coolant flushed and everything given a look over, finished off with a test drive. 😄

What a day! Replaced top and bottom ball joints (both sides) on an Austin Allegro . Going to take a look at the Standard tomorrow.

I got sent to tune the carbs on this MG....
Found - Low engine oil/leaking. Misplaced carb gasket, old fuel filter, pink antifreeze 😱 . Worn distributor and the most carbonated plugs I've seen. Oh and knackered coolant hoses + Contaminated clutch fluid.

I was asked to look at why this car struggles up hills and doesn't run that nice.
I found far too many problems to list here.
But, the main problem found...... no compression in cyl no.6 !
Here we have a 5cyl P4 that has gone unnoticed by many. + Inoperable vacuum advance unit, poor carb settings and odd spark plugs....
