Super excited to welcome these 2 beauties that spent 4 weeks, sailing thousands of miles across the oceans to come from Yokohama, Japan to the Port of Tyne, UK. Nissan Cubes, in beautiful Indigo colour. Both with low mileage of under 40,000 miles.
The story? Two good friends who wanted to buy nice, practical, family cars for their wives to drive in.
Like all well-designed Japanese cars, the attention to detail of the Nissan Cube is astounding. The interior spaciousness is impressive, so are the windows that look like viewports of submarines. The seats are so comfortable and gorgeous with navy and cream velvet.
But... what really surprised me is the interior overhead light that has a 'ripple effect' design around it. It reminds me of the landscapes of a Japanese Zen Garden. Then it got me thinking, in the fast-pace, profit-driven, cost-cutting modern age that we live in now, questions like 'what's the point' are often asked, I can imagine that most manufacturers wouldn't think of adding something like this into the design, however Nissan Cube has created this ripple-effect feature, that in my opinion lends to the aesthetic, enjoyment and inspiration for its passengers. How many times have we caught ourselves day-dreaming during long or short journeys in our cars, wishing we were somewhere else. And when the world seems chaotic outside the windows, I could choose to look at this for a moment of calm. And just like that, a journey in a car can indeed transform to become like a time in an Art Gallery or sitting in a Zen Garden. Kudos to Nissan!
