Hey lovely customers,

Heads up... looooong post... please make yourself a brew 😉

I'm so sorry we've/I've been so quiet on FBook... seems the past couple of years all I've managed to post is Happy Christmas!! While I've been 'Out of Office' on Fbook - I've been very much 'In Office' at the garage!!

As it's been soooooo long, it feels only right I fill you in on what's been going on (for those of you I've not had the pleasure of meeting yet - and possibly bending your ear, apologies if I have):

As of Jan 2025, our wonderful receptionist of 25 years, Christa (my Mum-in-Law) retired. To this day (literally I was asked again today!) I am frequently asked how she's doing, so I'm thrilled to report:

Mum is very happy and very healthy. She's very much enjoying her retirement away from the 'cold, smelly, dirty, noisy' garage but still pops in regularly to make sure the lads have hot chocolate and clean toilets (I refuse to clean them - they are vile - but as a Mum of 3x boys I guess she's not phased!). For those of you who ask me to pass on best wishes... I make a note every time and always pass it on, and Mum always beams when I tell her you're thinking of her.

As almost all of you know I'm sure (as hopefully we've met by now), I've been on reception since Mum retired; it was a steep learning curve I'll admit (thank you sincerely for your patience with me) and crikey have I learned some really rubbish stuff about cars and how expensive and needy (what's with all these sensors and engine management lights!) they can be! And obviously, working with one's husband comes with it's own challenges 😬 But we're still married and hopefully, as customers, you're still happy with our customer service🤞

- Many of you ask about who else is in the team, so here's a tiny intro:
- Jason, aka Mr Elite, aka my hubby and the boss (at the garage at least ☺)
- Jason, aka Little Jase, second in command, excellent technician and colleague
- Luke, excellent technician and colleague
- Joseph, excellent apprentice and colleague
- Jen, excellent receptionist (we job share) and colleague

Hopefully that brings you all up to speed and reassures you that Mum is grand and we're ok, despite my silence on here.

Dear lovely customers,

I'll try and keep this short and sweet (not a strength of mine!) - I've been told by hubby to say nothing at all on here (because Mum doesn't want a big fuss) - but having recently manned reception in her absence myself; taken calls and met customers... soooo many of you are shocked and worried to not have your usual, familiar and friendly voice/face to help you.

As such, knowing how much love many of you have for our wonderful receptionist (my Ma-in-law, Christa), I feel it's only fair I let you know that she'll not be on reception after Christmas..

She'll still be popping in whenever she fancies, and she wants to cover reception when our little girls are poorly or on school hols etc, but moving forward, on her request, Mum will be having a bit of time to herself. We are so, so happy for her... and just hope she knows how grateful we are for her hard graft and decades of loving support.

We all look forward to weekends together rather than work days ☺

We apologise to all of you lovely customers who are having to wait longer than usual to get your car booked in with us. Hubby is working late and weekends to try and keep you all on the road and I'm hunting high and low for a new team member. Hello March! And STILL it rains 🌧... I don't know about you, but I'm a bit over it now - at what point is it no longer "good for the plants 🌼and ducks?" 🦆 surely even they want a break from it!
Anyhoo... the roads are wet and treacherous, so we've noted a few things you can do to reduce your risk of running into trouble - please stay safe lovely followers ☺

As I sit writing this with it thrashing down outside; and with British Summertime fast approaching – what better time to prepare your car for the inevitable rain!!

👻HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!🎃

As a very busy family we don't often get quality down time together... but when we do, we try to make it count! Mr Elite (the T-Rex I'm smooching) was NOT impressed that he couldn't eat or drink in his costume, whoops; but the girls has such a giggle and many happy memories were made - which is what it's all about ☺

We've had lots going on in the garage in the last few weeks, and have big news in the pipeline too... will keep you posted! As always; thank you for your valued custom and unwavering loyalty and support.

**HAPPY UPDATE**
Turns out... the new receptionist (that would be me, Mrs Elite) and Mum, have decided that a job share is the way forward ☺ With both of us in the garage each day, on the crazy busy phones and keeping on top of the endless admin, deliveries, returns, cleaning and whatnot, we're hoping we can both bunk off a bit early most days and cover each other for days off and holidays - perfect! ☺

In 2001 our lovely receptionist/Mum, Christa, retired. At the same time hubby launched Elite, got divorced and bought a house in Newbury – he was stressed, sad, busy and skint… she kindly said she’d help on reception until he ‘found his feet’.

22 years on and Mum is still our matriarch, and always will be, but it’s time for a change. As of tomorrow, things will be a bit different at Elite; we have a new receptionist. Please don’t fret, Mum will still be around, teaching the newbie and helping as necessary, as always – so you’re sure to still see her when you visit.

It’s impossible to find the words to express the love and gratitude we have for the many, many years Christa has been at the helm of our ship. And we are absolutely thrilled (and very relieved) that she will be around for as long as she pleases to help us take on the many challenges ahead.

Please bear with us while the new girl learns the ropes and ‘finds her feet’. And thank you for your loyal custom, kind support and patience moving forward,
