Bare metal respray on this 1972 Datsun 240z due to poor previous paintwork causing micro blisters. Process for this 70's classic was mechanical strip the old paint with sanders. Epoxy primer as soon as possible to protect the metal from oxidation. After the bare metal had been sealed up the filler repair and welding work that was required was done on top of the epoxy primer. This method is the best recommended practice for restoration paint work because it puts a highly anti corrosion barrier between the filler and bare metal. After the repair work was completed two more coats of epoxy primer were applied to seal it all up from damp and moisture during the work in progress stage. Hand block the epoxy primer and then 3 coats of two pack primer. Block the two pack primer to totally level the panels before applying the colour with a base coat and a clear coat paint system.

The owner of the Newark MOT Centre asked Coachpainters if we could help him with a little project he was working on to display in his reception area. He had recently brought a 1960 fairground dodgem and presented us with a blue ministry of transport sign and asked if we could match the colour and paint the dodgem MOT blue. Not wanting to dodge this unusual opportunity we took the dodgem on and painted it MOT blue.

The children bereavement centre is holding their annual remembrance Exhibit held this year in St Mary Magdalene Church Gardens Newark on Saturday 27th June 2026 between 10am to 4pm. There will be lots of activities for all the family, refreshments and you can donate for a daisy to remember a loved one. Coachpainters was proud to join other local businesses in
helping and supporting this Charity by painting over 70 metal daisies for this Saturday's event. We seen this zircon blue Jaguar a few times, the most recent was in August last year when we worked on the front bumper and bonnet. This time the owner wanted us to paint the roof due to bad birdlime damage and also the original clear coat was breaking down and delaminating in several places.

A high up collision left this motorhome with a hole in the corner of the roof. The customer struggled to find a repair shop willing to help him, Coachpainters was only too happy to help and repair it so the customer could continue with their planned holidays.

When the owner of this Land rover Defender had a slight accident resulting in needing a new driver side wing and bonnet he decided that it would be a good time to maybe up grade it. He first asked us if we could change the Defender's colour from Santorini black to Havana with a gloss black roof and wheel arches. Havana is premium Land rover colour described as a chameleon like pearlescent grey that often appears as a mix of bronze, brown, and grey metallic tones, specifically shifting in appearance under sunlight. The customer also purchased a carbon fibre bonnet and brought an array of after market extras and replacements for us to fit. These included new all terrain wheels and tyres, stylish lower side bars with a matching rear bumper bar and a front bumper equipped with a winch plus a set of custom door hinges which all added to the final image. With the paint work done and the extras added and built up the transformation was finished and the results was a impressive modern looking Defender.

Some colour coding front bumper's that we did on a couple of pick ups trucks. A super white 2 Toyota Hilux and a silver Isuzu. Colour coding these pick ups are becoming more frequent and it really does transform the vehicles making them look smart and stylish.

The owner of this Alfa Romeo asked if we could repair this extremely nasty collision damage. With the right equipment and technicians with the right skill levels you be surprised to what can be repaired. We Repaired the side panel but used a new rear bumper and rear light unit. The paint repair was much easier by using Mipa paints recommendation of a white primer to assist the red top coat coverage and blending the adjacent panels for a perfect colour match. Both the customer and Coachpainters were very pleased with the results of this repair.
