Coquetdale Holidays

Coquetdale Holidays Malcolm, Kathy and Matthew Muckle welcome you to one of Northumberland's oldest holiday park's Coquetdale, the home of Sharp's Folly.

The Muckle family have owned and managed the park since 1967. We are located overlooking the historic town of Rothbury. One of Northumberland's oldest holiday park's, Coquetdale is the home of Sharp's Folly. Coquetdale Holiday Park is the perfect location for those wanting to escape to their very own country retreat. This secret countryside haven is located just off the A1, fifteen miles north-wes

t of Morpeth, twelve miles south-west of Alnwick and just over thirty miles from Newcastle. What sets Coquetdale apart from all other parks in the region is the location. Set within 25 acres of privately owned land, with blissful panoramic views, the park offers its holiday home owners the perfect country escape. Coquetdale Caravan Park is on the outskirts of a conservation area, overlooking the Coquet Valley at the base of the Northumberland National Park. It is a glorious natural setting for your very own country retreat. Coquetdale is a non-commercialised park and has a selection of new and approved used static caravans, holiday homes and luxury lodges available for sale with something to suit everyone. There are standard and premium grade pitches, and all of the holiday homes are from well known and trusted manufacturers with varied specifications to suit different tastes and budgets. In addition all holiday homes come with a pitch guarantee and warranty. We want you to enjoy your holiday home to its full potential, and with over 40 years combined experience running our Caravan Park in Northumberland, we feel equipped to be able to offer you valid and relevant advice. All our pitches enjoy unspoilt views that range from the Cragside National Trust Estate, to the Simonside and Cheviot Hills, the Coquet Valley and the market town of Rothbury. The peace and tranquility is what set’s Coquetdale apart. Coquetdale Caravan Park is host to a thriving wildlife, including many a red squirrel, owls, badgers and even some resident deer. Choosing Coquetdale Caravan Park is choosing a rural sanctuary with everything you need to forget about the normal stresses of everyday life. There are no bars, clubs or entertainment on site so you can enjoy the natural beauty of the area completely uninterrupted. Coquetdale Caravan Park is just a short walk away from Rothbury otherwise known as the ‘Capital of Coquetdale’ and offers a peaceful haven as there are so many walking and cycling routes to explore from your holiday home. The River Coquet meanders through the centre and is popular for fishing and is a pleasant and popular walk. From Coquetdale Caravan Park you can explore the surrounding Simonside and Cheviot Hills and all of the Northumberland National Park. Depending on how adventurous you are feeling there’s plenty to offer in the beautiful Coquet Valley and nearby. Cragside House, Garden and Estate is a ‘must-see’ and is less than 5 minutes away by car, and is arguably one of the most iconic National Trust sites in the country. Go blossom spotting in Northumberland - Blossom watch 2026

Its that time of year again and there’s still time to see the world’s largest Tai-haku Cherry Blossom Orchard come to life. Large ice-white flowers emerge from the buds of 329 Taihaku Cherry trees, inspired by the Japanese tradition of Hanami.

This is one of our favourite times of the year to visit the Alnwick Gardens. For more information about what is in bloom throughout April and May at the Alnwick Gardens Click this link:

We are so lucky that is only a short 20 min. drive to the historic, iconic Alnwick Gardens.

We would love to see your pictures of blossom so please share them with us on social media using .

The Easter holidays have brought brighter days back to Coquetdale Holiday Park.

After such a wet January and February we can now see Spring in full bloom throughout the park. Its lovely to see the Spring bulbs in full flower and the grassed areas looking luscious.

The park has been busy over Easter, we hope everyone has now settled back in for the new season and we look forward to catching up with those holiday home owners we haven't already.

We reopened the park on the 6th February, thankfully there was no frost damage to any of the mains services.

Please be cautious given the current weather, we are experiencing very cold temperatures, which are forecast to get even colder over the next week.

If any customers need help with their drain down or reconnection, do not hesitate to get in touch through reception anytime.

We look forward to seeing everyone back up at the park over the next few weeks.

Kind regards,

Malcolm, Kathy and Matthew

On Friday 12th December we will be carrying out essential electrical maintenance upgrades to the park, which will require the whole parks electricity supply to be turned off. The electricity will be off from 08:30am until 16:30pm.

We are in the process of calling all our customers to inform them of the planned maintenance works.

The electricity will be off all day on the 12th December so please be aware in case you are planning to be on park that day.

Given the recent snow, ice and extremely cold weather we wanted to remind our customers about winterising your holiday home.

Getting your holiday home ready for winter is vital to avoid frost damage and costly repairs in Spring.

If you are not confident of doing it yourself or you don’t have time, our maintenance team are available Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm and can provide a full drain down and reconnection service ready for the start of the new season.

We have already drained down a considerable number of customer caravans but just in case anyone has forgot to do so, please contact reception to book on:

📧📩WIFI NETWORK OFFLINE📧📩

The park's WiFi network is currently offline for the following sections:

Simonside; Blaeberry, Coquet Valley and Tower View.

Unfortunately some hardware has failed and requires our IT company to supply and install the replacement parts. The network will be back on line to all these sections on Thursday around mid-day this week.

All other sections on the park remain online and have WiFi access.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

🎉😃We reopened Coquetdale 🫎 yesterday for our last two sections of the park - Cragside and Hillside!

The sun ☀ had his hat on, the birds 🦉🦆 were chirping in full morning song 🐦 and it was a beautiful day 🌅. Don’t forget it is still very frosty, so take care to wrap up warm.

We can’t wait to see everyone back at the park, welcome home! 🥰

Following the weekend storm we just wanted to update everyone that there has been no damage caused to any holiday homes. There are a few sheds that had been smashed and will need to be dismantled and disposed of but other than small debris, thankfully no trees came down.

We are looking forward to reopening the park on the 6th February for the start of the 2025 season. We hope everyone has had an enjoyable Christmas break with family and friends.

Best wishes for the New Year.

Kind regards,

Malcolm, Kathy and Matthew
