1952 Jaguar XK120 3.4 Litre Competition Roadster

This rather lovely new arrival fills the void left by the sale of our most recent XK120 roadster.(A post on that car to follow).
And what a welcome addition to the room she is.

Prepared and maintained exclusively by CKL developments throughout a fourteen year period and offered today in stunning order this old girl certainly can walk the walk.
With FIA/HTP papers through December 2028 this gentleman’s racer is very much ready to roll.

I recently covered around 2,000 miles in just over a week in this particular car, taking in many of the best bits of France en route to Monaco for the historic GP.
I’m hard pushed to think of a finer alternative for such a job and was reminded of just how damn good these V8 F-Types are.

The last few weeks have seen a number of cars come and go, some of which made it to the open market, some did not.
They range from an Austin Healey, a V8 engined Defender right the way to a delivery mileage 2014 LaFerrari, with lots of other lovely odds and sods in between.

This week has seen the arrival of a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG estate (6.2 V8 proper job), a Jaguar C-Type by Proteus, a Porsche 993 Carrera 2S, an early Morris Minor equipped with a Fiat twin cam lump (obviously), two more classic Range Rovers and an Alpina Roadster S.

Variety really is the spice of life.

One of Jim Marland’s early and expertly built examples, this car has been in single ownership since its creation in 1991. ⠀
Offered for sale for the first time, this special car has just been given a thorough once over by the man himself and is very much ready for action. ⠀

The pretty ones are always hard work they say…

I’m pleased to say that doesn’t apply here.

If we cut to the chase, markets and interests alter, and the Aston DB market in very recent times has taken a slight beating, likely not helped by the onslaught of imported cars appearing in various auction houses. ⠀
⠀
However, truly good cars always find their way. ⠀
This achingly pretty 1961 DB4 Series III has the character, clout, provenance, attention to detail and mechanical ability to match the wondrous aesthetics, making it without doubt one of the most enjoyable and beautifully set up cars I’ve driven in years.
It is sure to provide huge joy to its new custodian. ⠀

It’s been a blast old sport, even if it did take a minute. 💙 ⠀

The other nine cars sold in February were rather brief visitors… more are needed.
