WKF Driving is an independent driving school based in Monifieth, near Dundee and is available to provide competitively priced driving instruction at all levels. WKF Driving is owned and operated by me, Watson Fraser. I am a retired Road Policing Sergeant with over 20 years experience of Advanced Police Driving and Motorcycling. As a result, I have a wealth of experience and knowledge to pass on to

new and not so new drivers. I am IAM (First) registered and also hold a ROSPA Gold certificate in Driving and Motorcycling. First qualified as a driving instructor in 1993, I am a Grade A instructor, placing me in the top 20% of instructors in the UK. I am patient and calm, put my pupils at ease, resulting in their lessons being fun and enjoyable. I am fully qualified and approved by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).

Congratulations today, go to Reese Getty from Monifieth, who passed her practical driving test at DTC. Reese produced a fantastic drive and had just a single minor fault.

It’s been a slightly longer journey than normal, primarily due to the difficulty in booking a practical test, but, as a consequence, Reese has developed into a very competent driver.

Well done Reese, it was clear today how much this means to you. You put in the hard work and got the outcome you deserved. All the best with your future plans. 🚗🚗

📢 The rules for booking a practical car driving test are changing.

From 31 March 2026, learner drivers and approved driving instructors (ADIs) will only be able to change a driving test booking up to 2 times.

A change includes:
- changing the date or time
- changing the test centre
- swapping an appointment with another learner

If you’re an ADI, please make sure your pupils only book their test when they’re ready as swapping between pupils will count towards this limit. You can set times when you're available to take your pupils to their driving tests. This stops your pupils from booking tests at times that do not work for you.

👉 When this comes into force, everyone with a driving test booked will have 2 changes available, regardless of how many changes they may have already made.

This change is part of the outcome of our consultation to improve the way driving tests are booked.

Congratulations go to Katie Stephenson from Monifieth, who passed her practical driving test today at DTC at the first attempt, and with a near perfect drive, only a single minor fault. Katie started with a different instructor, who unfortunately couldn’t continue, so a lot of the groundwork had already been done. We hit a few plateaus along the way, but you put the work in, which has resulted in today’s achievement. Very well done from me, and all the best with your studies and future career🚘

Another day, another pass! Today, congratulations go to Nairn Brown from Broughty Ferry who passed his practical driving test at the first attempt. Unfortunately for me, another pupil who had to travel outwith Dundee to get a test. Like his pal yesterday, Nairn travelled to Forfar and absolutely smashed it. Nairn reached test standard pretty quickly, he was keen and learned quickly, which, along with LOTS of extra practice meant he was ready super quick. It’s been a great week, 2/2 first time passes and the small matter of our National Football Team reaching the World Cup Finals. Well done Nairn, all the very best with your future plans. 🚘

Congratulations today, go to Bryn Thomson from Broughty Ferry, who passed his practical driving test at the first attempt. As is happening so often at the moment, Bryn travelled to Forfar for his test. This has been a relatively quick process, a little over 25 hours with me, LOTS of practice with his parents, has seen Bryn over the line. A fantastic effort. Congratulations today, go to Finlay Young from Broughty Ferry, who passed his practical driving at the first time of asking. This has been a remarkable effort from Finlay who totally stepped up to the plate after his mum inadvertently booked a cancellation in Montrose. At that point Finlay had only completed 10 hours training with me. By today, he’d completed 16 hours. He has done considerably more with his parents. It takes a certain individual to achieve this in such a short period of time, and it’s most definitely not the norm. But by listening to my advice and guidance and then implementing that in his private practice, Finlay has an achieved a thoroughly deserved pass. Very well done Finlay, all the best with your future plans.

Congratulations today, go to Benjamin Glancey from Broughty Ferry, who passed his practical driving test at DTC, with just one fault! This hasn’t been an easy journey for Benjamin. He started with me around February after a disappointing and frustrating experience with another instructor. Quite a few things hadn’t been taught properly and some things not at all. However, with hard work from Benjamin and his parents, he has managed to deliver a high standard of drive and achieve a great result, just in time for starting University. Well done Ben, all the best with your future plans🚗
