We all seem to enjoy our “only at Rhydymywn” stories or “a day in the life of a garage owner” and tonight’s one is pretty good too!
Just sitting down to our Sunday roast and my phone rings and it’s our local coffee supplier calling! Thought that is a very random time to call at 6.30pm on a Sunday evening, so decided I better answer it to make sure she was ok.
She then proceeded to say she had a lady on the phone who’d just popped in to get some fuel but it was now closed. As she was leaving she was approached by a lady who’d left her handbag in our toilet (and phone) and was desperate to get it back but didn’t know how she could get hold of anyone.
She then asked if the lady would call the number on the back of the local coffee bag she’d bought and see if they could maybe help!!
And this is where the community of our shop comes together as Aisha from Mug Run then called me and I then called Mandy from the village, who kindly went back to reopen the shop and release the locked in hand bag and phone!!
A very grateful customer and special thanks for the very kind lady passing by for fuel, that assisted in the great handbag recovery!!
We sell over 500 lines of local Welsh Produce and know the suppliers of pretty much all of them by name and number. It is a huge part of what the shop is about. Supporting local and local supporting us!
The problem solving and kindness in this post emphasises what our shop is about and how working together we can problem solve pretty much anything!!
I bet the big co operations can’t trace the food miles of any of their suppliers and definitely don’t know them by name and number! 😂😂
