🚗 A quick MOT scenario...

Your MOT isn't due to expire for another 3 weeks, so you're not worried.

You bring your car in early for its MOT and unfortunately it fails with a dangerous defect.

"No problem," you think. "I've still got 3 weeks left on my old MOT."

❌ Wrong.

This is one of the most common MOT myths we hear.

If your vehicle fails with defects that make it unroadworthy, you can't legally drive it on the road just because the previous MOT hasn't expired yet.

The expiry date on your old MOT doesn't override the fact that the vehicle has now been found to be unroadworthy.

So if your car fails, always check what the defects are and what you're allowed to do next before driving away.
