A huge thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for our annual Charity Golf Day, raising money for Pancreatic Cancer UK in memory of Patricia Currie.

We couldn’t have asked for better weather, and it was fantastic to see so many customers, suppliers, friends and colleagues coming together to support such an important cause. 💜

We’re still counting everything up, so we’ll be sharing the final amount raised very soon! 👀

And, of course, thank you to Collingtree Park Golf Club for looking after us so brilliantly once again.

We’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year! ⛳

⚡ Putting the DAF XD Electric to the test with APLE Transport Solutions

We recently took our DAF XD FA 220kW Electric to APLE, where their team have been putting it through its paces across their day-to-day operations.

Featuring a curtain-side body by ZJB Engineering Ltd and a tuck-under tail lift, the truck has been used on multiple runs around Milton Keynes, giving the team a chance to experience how an electric truck performs in a real working environment.

And the feedback so far has been positive:
🚛 “Nice to drive – I’d have one tomorrow.”
⚡ “Faster than diesel.”
🔇 “It’s strange when you stop at a roundabout and there’s no noise!”
🔋 "The truck has been using less than 30% of its charge during a typical day, even with three runs."
🌙 "Easily charged overnight using our existing 3 phase 400V AC charger"

The drivers also found that being fully loaded didn't make much difference to the driving experience, with plenty of acceleration available when needed.

APLE operate a fleet of around 20 trucks from Milton Keynes, covering UK general haulage and local pallet deliveries, moving around 220–250 pallets a day. The trial is helping the team understand where electric could work best within their operation.
