So this happened yesterday.

As is, I won’t be able to undertake any work for the foreseeable future. But I’ll use this as somewhat of a teaching lesson.

If you are lucky enough to have friends or family members that have access to home test kits, I would heavily advise that you acquire some as you never know who has it or if you have it yourself. And if that’s not an option, then do all you can to book a walk/drive in test. And please, be vigilant when going out to stores and other places where it can be easily transmitted.

For the record, I am okay and in good spirits with no symptoms. I shall be taking tests weekly so I can get right back to what I love.

Hello!😄

It’s been a while since I’ve posted on here hasn’t it😣. Nevertheless I have still been very much busy in the last few months with cars, including gaining accreditation’s from detailing companies as to further grow my business! More on that soon.

Today was a relatively light day in which I had had two “Maintenance Valet’s” from a returning customer in Katie and her husband Michael. As ever they were very hospitable upon arrival through cups of tea on top of a search party for a hose connector which I forgot at home🤦🏾‍♂️

I had attended to both cars but two months ago for the same service. As a gesture of goodwill I had applied Turtle Wax ‘Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Wet Wax’ free of charge and as means to test it. And I was shocked to find that it had stood the test of time after a couple of months to the same standard as when I had applied it(Video will be posted tomorrow)

Since the first visit, I was informed that the Mercedes was subject to a lot of mud and grime from long walks in the countryside, so I knew I had my work cut out for me.

Few hours later, both cars were back to how I previously left them previously.

Thanks again to Katie and Michael for rebooking and I hope to see you again soon😄

Here it is!

First and foremost, the clip didn’t turn out how I wanted it to and because of this, I’ll be switching editing softwares at the end of the month.

My brothers Vauxhall Astra was subject to a lot of paint oxidation and for some reason it tends to be red cars that are prone to this defect. Seeing as it’s been bugging me for a while I thought why not give the birthday boy his first “detail”. His headlights will be looked at later on. And it’s also important to note that I wasn’t really going for “paint correction” here but more so to breath life back into some tired paintwork!

Sorry I couldn’t include the wash and decon stages, I had no one to film me during those stages. So here’s a little before and after clip and I hope you enjoy it!

Just want to clear some things up before I post this clip which will be tomorrow(Rendering takes hours)

I didn’t manage to get any shots of me doing the prep(cleaning) prior to the restoration stage as I had no one available to film me and I don’t have the equipment to do it myself anymore.

Due to the lighting whilst filming it is fairly difficult to see the full extent of the job so will be putting some before and after shots later on in the week.

Been “detailing” my brothers car for his birthday which is today.

He hasn’t seen it yet and I will be putting up a short clip together showing a fraction of the process.

But this is basically the result you’re always going to get when you work on cars with soft/single stage paint, all of that oxidisation or dead paint will end up all over your pads but this is normal.

So if you’re thinking of having a whack at paint correction with a Dual Action polisher and this happens to you, don’t worry it’s to be expected✌🏾

Safe to say these pads(I used two) have met their demise and were thrown away.

So I had a car dropped off to me for a ‘Maintenance Wash’ which is my most basic and cheapest service
(The keys were put through the letterbox😉)

And Honestly...

I must have spent 30 minutes alone trying to pressure rinse all the caked on road film and dried on bird crap before applying any chemicals, which included the last of my Bilt-Hamber Laboratories ‘Surfex HD’ All Purpose Cleaner at FULL concentration before using 30:70 dilution(300mls:700mls) of Bilt Hamber Auto Foam to Water!

I then used a high concentration of Autoglym’s ‘Shampoo Conditioner’ for the contact wash and as you can see, through high concentration ratios and determination, I got this car back to its white colour again!

And for good measure I finished of with Meguairs ‘Quik Wax’ to give it a nice shine!

Do we have a contender to Bilt-Hamber Laboratories ‘Auto Foam’ as the leading snow foam on the market? Or is it all show and no go?👀

I will also be starting a “Best of Halfords” series in which every other week, I will be doing a review and on what I think is the best, Car Shampoo, Snow Foam, Wheel Cleaner, Wax etc.
