15 years ago, I decided to start a small smart repair business called Scuff N Scratch Solutions, serving Milton Keynes with minor local vehicle repairs.
After some early guidance from someone who would later become a good friend — Phil at Superscuffs in Bedford — I began the journey with one van, a lot of ambition, and no idea where the road ahead would lead.
As the business started to grow, I took on a second van specialising in alloy wheel repairs. But after spending plenty of time battling the British weather, we decided to take the plunge and move into our very first unit — a small 1,500 sq ft workshop.
That’s when things really began to move.
After 18 months of long days, late nights, and relentless hard work, we expanded again into our first proper 5,000 sq ft site, progressing further into accident repairs.
Getting the keys to our Bletchley site was probably one of the most daunting moments of my career, but it proved to be one of the best decisions we ever made. Over the next 10 years, we became firmly established in the Milton Keynes area for both small and large vehicle repairs.
During that time, insurance repair work became a much bigger part of the business, and we decided it was time for a new identity — rebranding as Vehicle Crash Repairs.
By surrounding myself with a fantastic team and continuing to push the business forward, we eventually made another huge leap 2 years ago — moving into our brand new, state-of-the-art 34,000 sq ft insurance-approved accident repair centre, becoming the largest independent repairer in Milton Keynes.
When I look back on the journey, with all the ups and downs along the way, it genuinely makes me proud of what we’ve achieved together as a business.
There is absolutely no way I could have done this without the incredible support from my team members over the years, my good friends, my family, and especially my amazing wife.
The industry is changing every day, and we are continuing to learn, adapt, and improve. But the future is bright, incredibly exciting, and I’m looking forward to seeing how my current team can help develop the business into one of the very best repair centres in the UK.
I’m not normally one for writing posts like this, but I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way.
Thank you 🙏🏻
