Mechanics! 💪🙏

We're talking with the UK supply chain right now.

These are the gloves that first became popular with auto mechanics in the US.

Where do you buy your gloves?

Does your Motor Factors store supply the original Black Mamba gloves?

The A6 at Kempston is currently closed while emergency services deal with a road traffic incident.

The road is shut in both directions between the Kempston Interchange Retail Park exit and the BP garage roundabout while recovery takes place, after an incident involving a lorry.

No-one has been seriously injured. Motorists are advised to take alternative routes.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Due to the damage caused by the flooding to the A421 road between the A6 at Bedford until the M1 junction 13 near Brogborough/Marston Moretaine, repair work will be taking place.

Sections of the A421 will be reduced to one lane, and there will be diversions and speed restrictions in place to keep everyone safe.

Tomorrow, Wednesday 9 October, we will be doing overnight resurfacing work on the westbound entry and exit slip at Marston Moretaine, including Beancroft Road and Beancroft Road Roundabout.

To do the work safely, we will need to close the A421 at Marston Moretaine overnight between 8pm to 6am, and divert traffic.

Westbound traffic on the A421 will be diverted along the A6 and A507 before rejoining the A421 at junction 13. While the services off Beancroft Road is closed an es**rt will be in place for those entering and leaving Travelodge, Shell and Greggs.

Local traffic will be diverted via Beancroft Road, Bedford Road, Fields Road, Cranfield Road, Upper Shelton Road, Bedford Road, Beancroft Road before rejoining to Marston Moretaine.

We’ll also be doing extra maintenance repairs while the A421 is closed.

• Clapham High Street.
• Cardington Road, Bedford - closed due to a fallen tree.
• Skimpot Road, Luton.
• Mill Road, Sharnbrook is also flooded and not safe to navigate.

The A421 remains closed while work continues to clear the floodwater at Marston Moretaine.

Avoid the areas and take alternative routes. Please drive safely and allow plenty of extra time if you need to travel.

There might be a difficult commute ahead for some across the Borough due to flooding in places.

Before you travel, please be aware of a number of road closures and issues across the area

• Avoid Paula Radcliffe Way (A6) as it is closed both directions. Crews on route to clear as quickly as possible so we can reopen.
• High Street, Clapham is closed.
• Lovell Road, Clapham is closed.
• Mill Road Sharnbrook is closed.
• The A6 at Milton Ernest is passable with care due to surface water
• The A421 is currently closed between the A6 and Marston Moretaine.

Driving in heavy rain and flooding can be hazardous.

Firstly it is always advisable to consider before you set off whether your journey is essential. If not, can it be delayed until after the rain has subsided?

If so then plan your journey in advance, taking care to avoid areas which are prone to flooding and factor in extra time to allow for slower speeds and potential congestion.

Do not walk or drive through flood water. Flood water may contain sewage and hide rubbish, wreckage, uneven roads and pavements or broken drain and manhole covers.

Be mindful that driving through flood water can negatively impact neighbouring properties.

Don’t remove road closure signs. The signs are there for your safety.

If you're planning a journey, be aware of standing water and possible flooding. Stay safe with this advice on driving in severe weather. For advice follow: https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/seasonal-advice/travel/driving-in-severe-weather
