Here's a couple of jobs we've been doing. I sometimes forget to take pictures as we are so busy.

One picture is Adam carrying out a clutch and flywheel replacement in a honda civic due to a very heavy pedal and a very very low bite point.

The other Jake doing a wet belt on the famous 1.2 Peugeot engine in a vauxhall Corsa.

We are working very hard to get through the work. Our current booking time is approximately 3-4 weeks. We appreciate all of you that come to us.

One of our big jobs this week was a full VXR swap from a right off Vauxhall Corsa VXR into a Vauxhall Corsa van.

We swapped everything VXR related including engine and gearbox, complete front subframe including brakes and suspension, complete rear axle including suspension and brakes, fuel tank with all fuel pipes, wiring loom and ECU, seats, steering wheel and dash clocks.

After solving some immobilizer issues we managed to get it all running and driving perfectly.

We thoroughly enjoyed doing this as it's not your everyday job. We love out of the ordinary. It also turned out the engine was fully forged and the ECU had already been mapped making this little van very lively.

Here is a BMW N47 engine with timing chain issues on a 2010 520d at 104k.

This had terrible start up chain rattle but surprisingly ran very well after about 5 seconds of rattle.

Once we got the engine out and stripped we found the top chain guide had completely gone. It had broken into many pieces, we found most of it in the sump and oil pick up pipe.

After timing the engine up and giving everything a very good clean we fitted a full timing chain kit which includes iwis (Genuine BMW chains are Iwis) chains.

Everything torqued to the manufacturer's spec, engine cleaned (including oil pump), resealed, new crank seal and cam cover gasket, new dipstick seal, engine oil and filter replaced and new injector seals.

This engine is now running fantastic. We carried out a long road test and then carried out a leak check. All good ✅.

The vehicle has now returned to a happy customer.

One of our jobs this week. A lovely clean Range Rover 3.0 V6 diesel in for a timing belt replacement and fuel pump belt replacement.

As many of you may not know, the rear fuel pump belt is an absolute pain to access. Quite often only done using a mirror as it is situated at the rear of the engine. Access on this one wasn't too bad but still a slight challenge.

This 2016 Vauxhall Astra came in for investigation due to the clutch pedal sticking down.

Upon investigation we found brake fluid coming out the bottom of the gearbox. This confirmed the classic slave cylinder failure. We priced the job up for the customer and parts were easily available.

The customer agreed for the work to be carried out. We went ahead and replaced the dual mass flywheel, clutch kit and slave cylinder. We also refilled the gearbox with fresh gear oil.

Another good turn around despite being supplied with the incorrect slave cylinder at first. Another happy customer.

As usual we have been crazy busy.

Here is another Land Rover Ingenium timing chain replacement.

This one came in with very little noise but had a fault code stored for camshaft position/range. It was caused by a stretched and jumped timing chain. We were surprised it didn't make more noise.

It's a massive strip down including a massive 9 speed automatic gearbox. Once we stripped it to access the timing chain we found the crank to be a tooth. We stripped and cleaned it all and replaced all the components with genuine parts including the VVT sprocket and VVT solenoid. These always get an oil and filter change also.

Once it was all reassembled we allowed the sealant to cure over night. We then primed the oil pressure before starting the engine. Once oil pressure had built up it purred into life. After 2 road tests and multi fluid level checks, it is back with the customer.

Another Ingenium saved and back on the road.

A slightly older Vauxhall Astra hatchback with a 1.9 cdti Z19DTH in for a new cylinder head, rocker arms and hybrid turbo.

This job was carried out due to the customer paying a "professional" to come to his house to drill out a snapped exhaust manifold stud. Even with the front and turbo stripped they still managed to destroy it. This left the customer with no option but to replace the cylinder head.

Here we have a Nissan Qashqai 1.2 DiG-T that had a timing chain rattle. Once stripped we found the problem. The timing chain had stretched, the tensioner had no more reach left. This was causing excessive slack in the timing chain hence the rattle.

They were very lucky the chain hadn't jumped causing serious internal engine damage. As part of the job we replaced both cam VVT sprockets, both chain guides, tensioner, oil pump chain and tensioner, crank sprocket and gaskets. We also have the sump off as the oil pump had to be removed.

After we had let the sealant go off over night, we filled it with fresh oil and replaced the oil filter. We always prime the oil pressure on any major job before starting the engine.

Once run up to temperature and a leak check carried out we road tested and carried out another leak check.

Another happy customer ☺️
