Many of you during isolation will have not used your vehicle much over the last 7+weeks so before you jump straight in it make sure your carry out a few checks on your vehicles to prevent any damage and also keep your family safe during your journey!

Check your tyres; depth, condition and pressures ✔️
Check your Levels; Oil, antifreeze and screenwash ✔️
Check your windscreen and wipers; make sure it is clean of dirt and tree sap, then the wipers are in good condition and clean the screen effectively ✔️
Check your brakes; before you set off ensure your have a go solid pedal and then once moving give them a few light presses to clean off any surface corrosion. ✔️
Check your gauges; fuel level, coolant temp, warning lights and most importantly Speed!
Check your light; makes sure all you lights operate correctly ( Brake light tip, if checking on your own reverse up to a solid object and check for your lights reflection)!! ✔️

This 2010 Discovery came in for an electrical earth fault, whilist working on the vehicle it was noted the service displayed as been over due so we have advised this but also due to mileage and age we queried if the cambelts had been replaced.
As the customer was unsure of this he asked us to carry out both a service and replacement of both cambelts, lucky 🍀 we did as you can see in the picture the belt has already started to fail!! If it had failed the damage to the engine would have been catastrophic!

How healthy is the automatic gearbox in your Land Rover / Range Rover???

Quite often is the case when a vehicle turns up on a Recovery vehicle the customer will say; “we were just driving along and then it lost drive” or “ I got a message on dashboard and it struggling to move”. There is often telltale symptoms prior to a gearbox failure that have normally been over looked by the customer and from asking the right questions customers will sometimes recall these telltale’s.

Does your vehicle;
•Appear to rev high before the vehicle starts to move?

•Shudder or judder whilist driving along or changing gear?

•Banging, harsh or abrupt gear changes?

•holding gears to long before changing?
