🚨 STOP! CHECK OUT OUR DAY IN THE WORKSHOP! 🚨

Today's vehicles certainly kept us busy and just goes to show why regular inspections and servicing are so important.

🔧 Nissan Pathfinder This one came in with uneven rear brake pad wear caused by a seized caliper slide pin. When the caliper can't float properly, one pad ends up doing all the work, leading to excessive wear and reduced braking performance.

🔧 Ford Transit Tipper The customer reported low oil pressure. Although the wet belt had been replaced previously, debris from the old belt had been left behind in the engine. To avoid further issues, the customer opted for a complete wet belt replacement along with a full service.

During our inspection, we also uncovered a number of additional faults:

⚠️ DPF fault caused by low AdBlue levels, resolved with an AdBlue top-up and regeneration
⚠️ Moisture ingress in the driver's rear light cluster causing the brake and indicator lamps to fail
⚠️ Coolant leak from a split radiator
⚠️ TPMS warning light due to failed tyre pressure sensors, likely damaged during a recent tyre replacement
⚠️ Charging system fault caused by loose battery connections under the seat, creating a potential fire risk
⚠️ Cracked mirror

❄️ Nissan Navara Booked in for a replacement air conditioning compressor to get the cooling system back up and running.

✅ Faults like these aren't always obvious until they become serious and expensive repairs. Regular servicing and inspections help identify problems early, keeping your vehicle reliable, safe and on the road.

🔧 Another busy day in the workshop today, but thankfully with much cooler temperatures!
Our technicians have tackled a Jaguar 2.0 Ingenium timing chain replacement, replaced an EGR valve and cooler on a Citroën, and continued investigations on an Ingenium engine removed last week after metal particles were discovered in the sump and oil pickup.
The diagnosis has been completed and we're now awaiting authorisation from the warranty company for a replacement engine.
Not every job is a simple service or MOT. Sometimes it's detailed fault finding, in-depth engine work and making sure problems are identified correctly before they become even bigger issues.
That's what we're here for. 👨‍🔧🔧

🔥 What a day in the workshop! 🔧
Scorching outside — but not half as scorching as the clutch and flywheel meltdown we spotted while tackling a Jaguar Ingenium timing chain. That thing had seen things.

Also on today’s menu:
• Fiat Ducato parking brake cables
• Another Ingenium engine stripped down
• A/C faults diagnosed because everyone’s melting

Hot weather, hotter engines, and plenty getting done.

Another busy day today!

BMW 420i M Sport engine removed in preparation for a rebuild

BMW 118i M Sport in for a service and MOT. Unfortunately the front splitter caught the floor on entering the workshop and suffered a catastrophic unaliving, new splitter ordered and will be replaced when it comes in. Thankfully a super chill customer!

Range Rover sport with a fuel leak found to be a clip missing now repaired and back on the road

Vauxhall Vivaro with a coolant leak from the EGR cooler most of the way there but unfortunately ran out of time before the end of the day!

Super busy day today and we've been flat out!

Land Rover Freelander 2 in for MOT repairs including a broken coil spring, drop link, oil leak, indicator bulb and an insecure CV boot. We noticed the power steering pump we fitted lazy year was noisy so while it was in we also took care of this under warranty for the customer.

Ford Mondeo in for 4 new injectors, fuel filter housing and a full service. The filter housing was leaking where somebody had previously bodged an electrical connector with a nail!

Mini Cooper D in for a manufacturer's service and MOT.

Audi A3 came in for a full service and a health check

Cirtoen C1 had a full service and health check

Nissan pathfinder for a slow to start fault. Battery tested and failed so a replacement was fitted before continuing diagnosis. Tests found a high resistance in the starter motor and following replacement the starting was resolved! The customer also asked us to look at a squeaky belt, a quick visual inspection showed excessive heat on the aircon compressor, a sign that the compressor is beginning to seize. A replacement will be quoted for the customer.

Finally a Vauxhall Vivaro with a loss of power concern. Initial checks showed this was likely to be a fault linked to the turbo charger, vehicle booked back in for thorough checks before completing a diagnosis.
