The ability to remap Transits post 2019 with the 2.0 engine 😁😁😁

Returning customer had us back today for his latest motor; a Black Edition A6 Avant complete with 3.0 272bhp TDI engine 😎😎

Is there such a thing as a bad remap??

Generally speaking no. It’s very rare that a car is not properly mapped. Companies will map a car with different power deliveries and curves. Not all remaps are the same.

There is the odd occasion where poor mapping can lead to drivability issues such as aggressive torque steer and power issues

This CLK 320 diesel had been mapped previously but the new owner wasn’t happy with how there was very little response below 2000rpm and no power at the top end.

The 7 speed box didn’t like the remap either with it holding onto the gears too long and the shifts being a bit jerky

The engine had been mapped too aggressively which gave it a very spiky and narrow power band

We dialled it back and smoothed it out 👍🏻

End result = much more responsive and enjoyable car to drive 👌🏻👌🏻 and the gearbox behaves like it should
