🔥 PROJECT 190E — THE RESTORATION OFFICIALLY BEGINS! 🔥

You might remember our Mercedes 190E that originally came into ASR for an inspection… and somehow ended up becoming ours. 😂

Well, the transformation back to its former glory officially starts HERE. ⭐️

First job on the list — a fresh set of spark plugs. ⚡️🔧

Nothing crazy to begin with, but every proper restoration has to start somewhere, and we’ll be working our way through this 190E one job at a time, doing things properly and giving this classic Mercedes the attention it deserves.

And trust us… this is only the VERY beginning. 👀

We’ve got a LONG list planned for this car, with plenty of mechanical work, restoration and improvements still to come.

We’ll be documenting the journey from start to finish so you can watch this classic 190E slowly come back to life.

🔧 RENAULT TRAFIC – DRIVESHAFT FAILURE SORTED! 🚐💨

Another Renault Trafic through the doors at ASR, this time needing a replacement driveshaft.

A worn or failing driveshaft isn’t something you want to ignore — knocking, vibration or excessive play can quickly turn into a much bigger problem and potentially leave the van going nowhere! ⚠️

⭐️ THIS ONE CAME IN FOR AN INSPECTION… AND NEVER LEFT! 😍

We had this absolutely lovely Mercedes-Benz 190E in at ASR for a full inspection — but after spending some time looking around it, we couldn’t help but see the potential hiding underneath. 👀

So… we ended up buying it from the owner! 😂🤝

The 190E is a proper old-school Mercedes and a car that deserves to be preserved, so rather than seeing another classic slowly disappear, we’ve decided to take this one on ourselves.

🔧 The plan? A PROPER restoration.

We’ll be going through the car, repairing what needs repairing, bringing everything back up to standard and slowly transforming it back into the beautiful 190E it deserves to be.

No bodging. No covering things up. We want to bring this car back to its former glory and give it a new lease of life. ⭐️

There’s going to be plenty of work involved, but that’s half the fun…

🚨 BMW 335D – MAJOR COOLANT LEAK & SERIOUS CARBON BUILD-UP! 🚨

This BMW 335D came into ASR with a major coolant leak… and unfortunately it was coming from one of the worst places to get to — the oil filter housing! 😳💦

This is definitely NOT a quick little repair.

Getting access means stripping down and removing a serious amount of components before you can even get anywhere near the problem. 🔧

But while everything was coming apart, we uncovered another issue…

😳 SERIOUS CARBON BUILD-UP THROUGH THE INLET!

The amount of carbon inside was heavily restricting airflow and certainly wasn’t helping this 335D perform as it should — causing the potential for poor performance, reduced power and engine running issues.

With everything already stripped down, it made absolutely no sense to ignore it.

So we got it SORTED. 👊

💦 Major coolant leak repaired
🔧 Oil filter housing repair completed
🧼 Heavy inlet carbon build-up dealt with
🔍 Everything inspected while stripped down
💧 Cooling system checked after repair
💙 GENUINE BMW PARTS USED THROUGHOUT

No shortcuts. No cheap parts. No putting it back together knowing another problem was sitting underneath.

This was a BIG job, but the result is exactly what we wanted — coolant leak eliminated, inlet sorted and this 335D back together properly and ready to get back on the road! 🔥

💦 VAUXHALL MOKKA IN WITH A SERIOUS COOLANT LEAK! 🔧

This Vauxhall Mokka came into ASR after developing a coolant leak — and after getting it in the workshop and investigating, we traced the problem to a broken coolant line running to the back of the turbo. 🌡️💦

With coolant disappearing, this definitely wasn’t something to ignore. Losing coolant can quickly turn a relatively straightforward repair into a much bigger and more expensive problem if the engine overheats.

🔍 Fault traced and confirmed
🔧 Broken turbo coolant line replaced
💦 Coolant system refilled and checked
✅ Leak sorted and vehicle back on the road

🔧 KEEPING LOCAL BUSINESSES MOVING! 🚐💨

This VW Transporter from A.H.S South East was in with us this week for a few important repairs — because when your van is part of your business, downtime means lost time and lost money!

We got straight to work:

🔥 New glow plugs fitted
🔧 New front lower arm fitted
🛑 New rear brake pads fitted

Jobs completed, everything checked over and the Transporter is back out on the road, earning its keep and keeping A.H.S South East working! 👊
