Just a little update from my post yesterday. Firstly thank you to everyone for the kind words about David Herds. Secondly I’d like everyone to know that all our staff have jobs to go to immediately after we close (highlights the skills shortage in our trade). Finally our chief mechanic Andrew is starting his own business, it’s called Unit 4 Auto’s Ltd 102 Higher Road Urmston M41 9AP call 07855394789. He will be doing MOTs and mechanical work. Andrew has worked for David Herds since he left school and I’m sure many of you have met him over the years. Hopefully from June onwards some of you will support Andrew in his new venture, I’m sure you will receive the same great service he has always given while with us.

Message to all our customers

I’m writing this post a little sad today because I have to inform all our customers as of Friday 27/05/22 David Herd Motors will cease trading. It’s become increasingly difficult to find good staff/tradesmen in the automotive industry. Also with technology in motor vehicles advancing at such a pace, along with all the associated problems of supply since the Covid pandemic now seems like the right time for us to bow out. It’s been approx 57 years since the company started and I have been part of it for the majority of my life. It’s been a pleasure for me running the company over the last 15 years. So from myself and David we would like to thank all our customers over all that time for using us. Big thanks also to everyone that has worked for us over these years.
