⚡ A first for Tomsetts Distribution Ltd. A milestone for

Some deliveries mean a little more than others.

Today we’re celebrating the handover of Tomsetts Distribution’s first fully electric DAF 12 tonne vehicle, supplied on contract hire by Centurion Truck Rental and delivered by DAF dealership Group.

For Managing Director, Andrew Tucknott, this is a significant step forward in a sustainability journey that has seen the family-run business commit to becoming carbon neutral by 2030 and Net Zero by 2040.

For Centurion, it’s also one of our first EV contract hire solutions, making this a proud moment for our team as we continue supporting customers who are looking at practical ways to reduce emissions without compromising operational performance. Robert Morgan, Key Account Manager met with Andrew today as he received the striking new vehicle.

What makes this handover particularly special is that it’s built on shared values. Both businesses believe in long-term relationships, doing the right thing and investing in the future.

It’s so exciting to see ambition turning into action.

Today we’re celebrating an incredible milestone as Karen Wilson marks her 29th work anniversary with the business.

Karen is a central part of the Middleton team and a character loved by everyone who knows her. Whether she’s solving problems, supporting customers and drivers, or keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes, Karen always goes above and beyond.

She’s also responsible for bringing colour to our Middleton depot, using her gardening talents to keep the planters looking fantastic all year round with beautiful seasonal displays, all cared for with plenty of love and attention.

The team celebrated Karen’s achievement today with cake, flowers and a lunchtime gathering, recognising nearly three decades of hard work and commitment.

When asked what has kept her here for 29 years, Karen said:

“It’s the people. Warren is a great boss to work for, my colleagues make every day enjoyable, and our customers are amazing. I love that no two days are ever the same – whether I’m raising invoices or helping a customer or driver who needs support. And of course, who doesn’t love a good truck?” 🚛

Thank you, Karen, for everything you do. Here’s to an incredible 29 years and many more memories to come!

For the past two years, Stuart has been a valued member of our Taunton team as a Valeter/Driver, taking great pride in ensuring our vehicles are presented to the highest standard and reflect our company values.
What many people don’t know is that after purchasing this Mercedes from the business, Stuart transformed it into his dream home on wheels!

Today Chloe at our Bridgewater depot became a real-life Disney princess after rescuing a little bird, giving it some TLC and watching it fly safely back off into the sky.

Where’s Centurion been spotted this week?

We’ve had some brilliant sightings of the Centurion model truck out and about again and it’s safe to say the campaign is really capy-turing people’s attention!

First up, a capybara encounter at Chew Magna Animal Park, Bristol... and let’s just say our model truck made some very chill new friends. Capybaras are known as the ultimate relaxed rodents, so it felt like a perfect match for a laid-back photo moment! Thanks for this one Gem!

We’ve also had the Centurion truck perched proudly on a fence post in Dorset, basking in the sunshine and overlooking the fields, a proper postcard moment.

And finally, it was spotted in Lloret de Mar with Sam, enjoying some well-earned downtime with his family including sons Alfie and Bertie, proving the Centurion travels far, even when it’s off duty!

From chill capybaras to coastal getaways and countryside views, the Centurion truck is certainly getting around...

Kurtis has been so consistently helpful and supportive that the Finance Team specifically asked for him to be recognised for going above and beyond.
