We are incredibly sad to be passing the news that Rob Pilcher passed away over the weekend. His son Tom, on behalf of the family, asked me to update the RS200 community. Rob was one of the few remaining original owners. He was a lovely gent, one of the good guys. RIP Rob.

Just popped in for a chat with Geoff Page and to see Geoff Page Engineering 's new 6R4 engine being assembled. Nice to see the RS200 breading program is coming along. So many great toys there with great stories I could stay for hours but no work would get done! I did float the idea of a charity open evening and he didn't say no. Fancy that?

The Lydden Legend Festival will return in July 2026, following its successful debut last year. Born as a sister event to the renowned Loheac Legend Festival in France, the Lydden edition carries the same spirit: celebrating the machines and stories that shaped rallycross from its earliest days to its golden eras.

Held at Lydden Hill, the original home of rallycross since 1967, the festival is focused entirely on historic rallycross and rally machinery. Working in collaboration with the Rallycross Legends Show, led by concept creator Philippe Tollemer, and Loheac’s Patrick Germain and team, the 2026 edition will once again feature a packed weekend of track action and up-close access to some of the most iconic cars and drivers in the sport.

The on-track programme will span multiple classes, including appearances from Group B cars, classic 4WD legends, and entries from the Retro Rallycross Championship. Alongside the rallycross demonstration races, cars from the wider world of rallying will also run timed intervals on both the rallycross and tarmac layouts.

Off the track, the event remains fully open to fans. A walkable paddock, car club displays, and rare machinery on show provide full access to the history and culture of the sport. It all begins with a Welcome Gala on Friday, followed by two full days of action and celebration.

Led by Pat Doran and the Lydden team, we’re inviting drivers and owners to join us again in 2026. If you’d like to register interest in attending with your car, please fill in the details below to stay in the loop as to when the final date is confirmed.

Found some old footage today of us playing around in the snow in Norway in December 2011 with the owner of chassis 061 at that time. Great fun with the best hosts you could ask for.

A few years ago I bought a very rare complete built list for the RS200. It turned out the seller didn't have the right to sell it so I returned it to the rightful owner and took the (not insignificant) financial hit. Before I did so I paid to have all 364 pages hand scanned. Last week I had 10 hardback books made so that I have 1 for myself and 9 other enthusiasts/owners can have a copy also. To cover the cost of this venture they will have to sell at £125 including UK insured postage and packaging. If you want one don't reply here, just email me on [email protected] and I'll reply with an invoice which will have a link to payment methods 👍🙂 - another bit of RS200 history preserved.

Over the years a few people have asked about these 2 events and the www seems to have mixed them up a bit despite them being 2 years apart. Stig did not for instance drive the car that set the world record, Graham did as you can read in the posts. It would be great if some of those involved in these 2 events could add to the story by replying to the posts in the forum :)

As the dust settles on the Silverstone Festival RS200 Owners gathering the most common questions have been "why 2023, why Silverstone, in fact why at all?" - The answer is that I was inspired by the 1990 Pembrey event that Alan Fenwick pulled together. I wanted to know whether all these years later owners still wanted to actually gather or had digital taken over. This is some footage shared to me by David Seaton that shows that inspiration.
