Old gen vs New gen

We had the pleasure of both of these beasts in today! The INEOS Grenadier was in for a service, using OE quality parts and Shell oils and the Defender in for a new head gasket as it had started to leak exhaust gasses in to the engine bay.

The Ford 1.0 Ecoboost Engine has well documented issues with degradation of the wet belt, left unaddressed this can lead to engine failure, both the timing belt and oil pump drive belt can delaminate depositing debris into the engine oil/sump pan, early warning signs can be oil light illumination due to the oil pump pick up/strainer becoming blocked. Ford recommend replacing the belts at 100,000 miles but they have been known to fail with as little as 50,000 miles. If you have a 1.0L Ecoboost and aren't sure if your timing belt has been replaced give us a call to get booked in to check and/or replace if required.

We offer Ford 1.0L Ecoboost timing belt replacements from £1300, using genuine Ford parts.
