The harness and carriage maker evolved into skilled coach builders working with Rolls Royce, Daimler & Bentley at the dawn of the motoring age. The Dormobile name first appeared in 1952 with the
birth of the Bedford CA 'bedroom on wheels' motor caravan. The now-iconic side elevating roof was born in 1957, again with the Bedford as the base vehicle. Volkswagen splitscreen conversions & Land Rover series were added into the mix and by 1969 the company Dormobile limited was formed. Fast forward and in a resurgent market & bolstered by a state of the art workshop and showroom in the heart of The New Forest in Hampshire, Dormobile limited offer European type approved motorhomes, completely bespoke, too end customised conversions, while also keeping the classic fleet on the road with original & genuine Dormobile parts.
