Did you know?

You can get an MOT up to a month (minus a day) before it runs out and keep the same renewal date. Example If your MOT runs out on 15 May, the earliest you can get an MOT to keep the same renewal date for next year is 16 April.

We now offer a free MOT and service reminder where a month before we will send you an email reminder to let you know Your MOT or reminder is due.

It’s very handy to have a reminder as driving without a valid MOT certificate will invalidate your car insurance and could land you with a fine.

We will be automatically adding reminders to every vehicle we MOT unless requested otherwise.

Pop down or get in contact now to get your reminder free of charge!

Confused about the Covid-19 6 Month MOT extension? lets try and break it down.

If your MOT was due between 31st March 2020 and 31st July 2020 then on the expiry of your current MOT certificate there will be a 6 month extension applied to your vehicle. it will not be extended if it was due from the 1st August 2020, you will need to get an MOT as normal.

You do not need to do anything if your vehicle qualifies for the MOT extension as this will happen automatically on the expiry of your current MOT, however it is also a good idea to check that the expiry has been extended by visiting https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history and inputting your registration to view when your MOT expires, if yours hasn't automatically been extended then you should email [email protected] and they should give instruction on how to progress.

it is also worth noting that you are still required by law to keep your vehicle in a roadworthy condition and a lot can go wrong in 6 months, so if possible we would advise you to get your MOT carried out upon the expiry of your original MOT to ensure your vehicle is safe to drive but with this in mind if you have the MOT 6 month extension applied to your vehicle and you bring the vehicle for its MOT then the 6 month extension no longer applies and if the vehicle fails its MOT you must stop using the vehicle untill the defects have been repaired.

Hope that clears everything up and if you have any questions feel free to send us a message and we will be happy to help you out in any way that we can!

Stay safe!
