🚨 MOT Challenge Answer Revealed! 🚨

Thanks to everyone who took part in Monday's challenge and guessed which image showed an MOT failure.

The correct answer was C ✅

Here's the breakdown:

🔹 A – This one was a bit of a trick question! While you can't see the entire tyre, the visible ¾ appears to have sufficient tread depth, so based on the image alone it wouldn't be an MOT failure.

🔹 B – The windscreen chip may look concerning, but its size and position place it outside the MOT failure zone. Although it would pass an MOT, we'd recommend getting it repaired to prevent it from spreading.

🔹 C – This was the correct answer. The dashboard warning light indicated that the screen wash was empty. As vehicles must have a functioning windscreen washer system with sufficient fluid available for use during the MOT test, this would result in a failure.

🚗✅ ANSWER REVEALED: GUESS THE MOT FAILURE ✅🚗

The correct answer was...

❌ Illuminated Airbag Warning Light (SRS Fault) ❌

Even though the vehicle looked perfectly roadworthy, the illuminated airbag warning light is classified as a Major Defect and results in an MOT failure.

💡 Why does it fail?

The warning light indicates a fault within the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), meaning the airbags may not deploy correctly in the event of a collision.

Many people are surprised to learn that a dashboard warning light can fail an MOT, but safety systems like airbags are a key part of the inspection.

🔧 Common causes include:
• Faulty seat wiring
• Damaged connectors under the seats
• Sensor faults
• Airbag module issues
