This one was hanging on by a thread…

A full rip in the curtain, but not for long. Our team carried out a complete repair, bringing it back to full strength and a clean finish. A proper fix that got the vehicle back to work, and looking spot on!

Throwing it back… waaay back!

Behind every vehicle we build is a brilliant group of people who take pride in what they do, support each other every day and bring years of experience to the job.

It’s these people and personalities that make Roco what it is today. Some haven’t changed much, others might be harder to recognise!

A big congratulations to Alan Ogrodnik, our latest Champion’s Award winner at Roco Truck Bodies.

Alan was nominated by George Markey following a recent modification job for McDowells that was working to a tight deadline. With time limited due to training commitments, Alan stepped in without being asked to prepare and paint the steel required for the job, helping to keep everything on track.

George shared:
“Alan took the initiative and prepared and painted the steel I needed without being asked, which helped keep everything on schedule. I really appreciate his efforts, his actions saved me a considerable amount of time and played a key role in delivering the job on schedule.”

This is exactly what the Champion’s Award is all about. Taking ownership, supporting your team, and going the extra mile when it matters most.

Well done, Alan – a brilliant example of teamwork in action.

You can take the tools off a Yorkshire lad… but you can’t keep him away from a good job when the workshop’s in need.

Our Workshop Manager, Steve has traded the comfort of his office chair for the workshop again, getting stuck in to help the team through a busy start to the year.

At Roco Truck Bodies, you’re never too busy to pick up a welding torch and crack on. It’s part of what keeps things moving and keeps our customers happy!

Today, we share the very sad news of the passing of our colleague Dave.

Dave joined Roco Truck Bodies in June 2021 and quickly became an integral part of our team. His experience and technical knowledge were second to none, and he was someone many colleagues turned to for guidance and support. He may have preferred to stay out of the spotlight, but his quiet humour, dry wit and steady presence never went unnoticed.

Following a serious health scare in 2024, Dave took time to reflect and made a conscious shift to enjoy life more fully. Over the past year, it was clear he was doing just that — taking time for himself, travelling, and embracing a better balance, all very much in his own way.

Dave sadly passed away following a heart attack while on holiday in Tenerife over the Christmas and New Year period. He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of working with him, and he leaves a gap that will be incredibly hard to fill, both personally and professionally.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Dave’s family, friends and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time. He will always be remembered for his dedication to his work and his love for his dog, which he spoke about with real pride.

Rest in peace, Dave.

Today is International Men’s Day 2025, a day dedicated to raising awareness around men’s wellbeing and breaking the stigma around talking about mental health.

This year’s theme encourages men to speak up, seek support, and recognise that looking after mental health is not a weakness. In fast-paced workshops and hands-on environments like ours, it’s easy to push things aside. But support starts with conversation.

This week, we welcomed Andy’s Man Club to Roco Truck Bodies. Their visit offered our team the space to talk openly about mental health, learn how to check in with one another, and understand what support is available.

Awareness matters. Conversation matters. Looking out for each other makes our workplace stronger.

On this day in 1995, Roco Truck Bodies officially moved into our custom-built premises – Roco House.

Ron Obank, our founding Managing Director, cut the ribbon on 22nd September 1995, marking a new chapter in Roco’s journey.

Since then, we’ve built thousands of commercial vehicle bodies, grown a fantastic team, and stayed true to our Yorkshire roots – all from the same site we’re proud to call home.

Here’s to 30 years of craftsmanship at Roco House – and plenty more to come!

The Roco lads have been back in the classroom – completing the Level 1 Electric Vehicle Awareness course by Remit Training, right here in Bradford, in our brand new boardroom!

It’s all part of our ongoing investment in upskilling the team and getting EV-ready as more fleets go electric.

We’re building a business (and a workforce) that’s ready for the next 40 years.
