I popped in to drop some more parts off while on R&R but only grabbed a couple pics while the HK was on all 4 wheels again.

The lads are working on a time attack car for a bit now to meet a schedule date so will get back into mine in the next few weeks.

3 more weeks of working away before I can get the required parts to Brodie and Mark to get back into engine bay.

So I reached out to Pro Cad Concepts for a custom dash centre section to house 6 x 2 1/16” Autometer gauges to monitor engine and gearbox vitals.

Will trial fit first and then send it away for plastic chroming with the rest of my dash parts, but checkout the render pictures showing whats in the making.

Another piece to the puzzle getting sorted!

The dry sump arrangement hasn’t worked out as planned, so we are going to remove that whole setup and go with an aftermarket wet sump. Luckily I already have a HQ style sump in the shed to trial fit. Unfortunately that has to wait until I finish working away and get back to Perth to find it.

So the fabrication of the engine and gearbox mounts are on hold, which means the header fabrication and the rest of the exhaust system is on hold too.

Oh well… the bank balance can recover for another month.

The diff brackets arrived and tacked in, and the modified Motorfab suspension is in to suit the offset spring perches, allowing for the shocks to be installed in the next couple of days.
Next part is trying to figure out the brackets for the calipers to be removable so I can have the option to change up the wheels if I want to later on.

The lads at Advanced Race Fabrication have done some fantastic work this week.

Just waiting on some laser cut brackets for the diff to arrive and then mock up the ride height in the next couple of days. But while they have been waiting, they’ve cleaned up some of the dents and factory welds in the floor pan and also finished the chassis connectors.

I knew I was in safe hands working with Brodie and Mark by looking at their work on previous customer cars but now it’s my turn… I’m bloody stoked!

Now we are at the exciting stage of the build with some of these fruity parts finally making their way onto the car by Brodie and Mark at Advanced Race Fabrication.

Still have to install the oil drain/ jack point on the bottom of the pumpkin. Then the lads will fabricate the shock mounting brackets along with the rear C6 Corvette calliper bracket tabs and brake line tabs.

Should be a roller again some time this week before starting work on the chassis connectors that will be profiled to the floor pan.

My chassis guy is ready for me after a long wait.

His list is:

Build diff to suit wheels and C6 corvette brakes, along with E-brake.
Install offset spring perches and setup motorfab split leaf rear suspension.
Install chassis connectors, profiled to floor pan.
Bolt up power glide to engine and make custom mounts on Rodtech IFS.
Measure up & install tail shaft.
Install united speed shop fuel tank.
Install Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump and run all fuel lines.
Fabricate headers and the rest of the twin 3” exhaust system.
Install Astra power steering pump and lines.
Install under dash “curleys” offset brake pedals and finish brake line setup.
Install pro-ratchet shifter into orig console.

So amongst the other 1/2 dozen cars… think he will have it for a number of months.

Looking forward to next stage of the build before going back to the panel shop to finalise all the gaps while “most” of the weight is in the car.

Tremaniac Racing have almost finished building the engine with a pretty free reign on what to build... other than a request for around 700hp on 98 octane (I live in the North West where other fuels are not easy to get hold of).

Not sure if I mentioned it previously but it started life as a Trophy truck 6L engine, with a Dart little M block but they have now punched it out to 427ci with a slight bore, new forged rotating assembly and custom Comp Cams solid roller cam with BAM lifters.

The GM363 18 degree heads have been worked over with a port job, flow benched with new valves & seals etc but not sure what the exact specs are just yet (for the whole top end, other than a matched Brodix manifold)

I'm pretty confident they will easily give me the 700hp and look forward to the dyno vid and results in the next month or so.
