A lot has been said about the way that the new Norton bikes feel and handle. But now that we've had a Manx R Signature in our demo fleet for a while, here's what LondonSpeed have to say.

"I'm not being biased when I say this is a special bike. Normal bikes don't turn in like this, the wheels, they are carbon, so there's about 2kg of gyroscopic force per wheel when you turn in. There's so little effort required in every way. The mid-range revs make this the most pleasant bike to ride hard I've ever ridden."

"There's no twitchy rev-it-all-the-time feeling like a comparable Kawasaki. You don't need to be on the edge for it to pull like you've got a fleet of Triumph Rockets hauling you forward. The torque is there, when you want it. And for those of you saying 'oh, but electric bikes have this torque,' to that I say: the sound."

"It's just what you need it to be. Lots of bikes these days have mega aero and winglets, you don't need them. You do not need aero (besides the fairing). I've seen people drive their A2 bikes in to the shop with aero winglets, zero other mods, and all I can think is, if this bike doesn't need them, why on earth does yours?"

Oh, and it comes with a brand New SBS roller trailer... which usually retails at £1,850!

You'll have an absolute blast on this ski; it carves through the water like nothing seen before, and the audio system adapts to your speed making sure you can hear your tunes even whilst chasing top speeds.

I'm telling you that this is pretty much the best way to get on the water. A new comparable ski will set you back over £24,000! And a trailer... that's another £1,850. This ski has had only 56 hours of use, so it's been bedded in, it's been well looked-after, and it's just magical. A red bullet that'll smoke a Yamaha like the Yam was a smokable piece of brisket.

The RXP is the fastest way to get from A to B, provided both A and B are on the shore. Never be late to a hypothetical Brightonian BBQ (if you live on the south coast) and forever say goodbye to the misery-inducing throttled A27 and the curdles of traffic that clot in Arundel.

Of course, there are other things that you could do with this ski. You could run a (possibly) profitable ferry service (1 passenger at a time) from Sheerness to Shoeburyness. You would absolutely have to look up the relevant boating laws but I'm pretty sure you could get from one side to the other in about 7 minutes (just under 5 minutes for a flat-out 70mph crossing, but you'd need to maintain 10mph until you are 200m out, and then accelerate / decelerate as necessary, which would take about ~1 minute on each side)

Maths aside, I mean, how much would you pay for a quick crossing like that? Or perhaps going from Dover to Calais in about 24 minutes! Which is better than the Eurotunnel by 10 minutes.

Of course, you're not going to hit 70mph the whole way, because of waves, but on a glass-flat day, you could make it there in about the same time as it takes to listen to Echoes by Pink Floyd. Which, of course, you could do simultaneously, because of the audio system. See, there's nothing this thing can't do!

NORTON. What comes to mind when we say "Norton"? Is it of leather-clad sunday riders, of motorsporting prowess, or of the new Manx R?

Whatever you think Norton is, the new Manx R is better than that. Even if you've already ridden a Manx R. Each ride, you'll learn something new. A new road, a new feeling, a new elongated blur as you scream past opponents on track.
