From warehouse work to construction plant.

Inspired by Flannery's commitment to creating opportunities for women in construction, Hailey Bradley took the leap and began training at our Operator Skills Hub in Lound.

Now, after training locally, she's preparing for her first role on a local site.

This is what it's all about: giving local people the skills, confidence, and opportunities to build careers on projects in their own communities.

Because communities should benefit long after the last machine leaves site.

Some of the strongest foundations in business are built on relationships.

From first meeting Paddy Flannery, Dave became part of a journey shaped by friendship, shared values and a lifelong passion for the industry.

Over the years, he has witnessed the business evolve, worked alongside generations of the Flannery family, and played a part in some of the company's most important moments.

As we look back on Dave's journey, we celebrate not just his career, but the relationship that began it all.

Thank you, Dave, for your friendship, your dedication and the lasting impact you've had on Flannery.

Meet the UK's first Cat 320 Battery Electric Excavator.

While others are talking about what's next, Flannery are already putting it to work.

Supplied by Flannery and operating in collaboration with SCS and HS2 (High Speed Two) Ltd at Euston, this machine represents a major step forward in bringing low-emission technology to large-scale infrastructure projects.

Powered by a 387 kWh battery and supported by 40kW Kempower charging, it delivers the same features, capability and operator experience as a conventional diesel machine, without compromising on performance.

The future of low-carbon construction is already taking shape. The challenge now isn't proving it works, it's scaling it. Together with SCS and HS2, we're helping lead that transition on site.

At Flannery, social value is about more than the projects we work on. It's about supporting people, strengthening communities, and creating opportunities to make a lasting difference.

One story that particularly stood out was that of Will Flannery, who got in touch because of the shared Flannery name. When we heard about his mission to complete a 100km charity cycle ride in memory of his friend Nancy Dunne and raise money for Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity, we were proud to support the cause. Alongside 39 classmates, Will helped raise more than £28,000, with Nancy's father taking part in the ride and fellow student Dean completing the challenge on a specially adapted bike despite living with cerebral palsy. A huge well done to Will and all his classmates on an incredible achievement.

If you'd like to support Will's fundraising efforts, you can find the donation link in the comments.

We've also been supporting local community projects by donating machinery to help improve facilities at Castle Bromwich Junior & Infant Schools, contributing to a safer and more enjoyable playground environment. In Tenby, our equipment helped enable the construction of a new footpath and spectator hardstanding area at the local football club.

Supporting wellbeing remains a key focus. Our Head of Social Value and EDI, Odee Pessu, joined forces with PAM Wellness to deliver awareness sessions across multiple Eiffage Kier Ferrovial BAM (EKFB) sites, helping operators, fitters and office-based teams engage in important conversations around wellbeing, mental health, and the impact of drug and alcohol misuse.

We've also been proud to support fundraising initiatives through football, including charity tournaments organised by Careys Foundation and Taylor Woodrow, helping raise vital funds for organisations that provide essential support to families and communities.

These stories remind us that the greatest impact comes when people come together with a shared purpose.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in these initiatives. We’re proud to have played a part.

Sometimes, the first step into your career starts with simply being given a chance.
For Renee and Krushi, Flannery’s H.I.R.E Programme introduced them to a career path they hadn’t previously considered and gave them the support to grow from day one.

From arriving as graduates at the start of their careers to becoming confident members of the payroll team, both have developed new skills, built their confidence and discovered just how many opportunities exist within construction beyond the site.

Their experience is also proof that a career in construction goes far beyond site-based roles, with opportunities to learn, develop and build a career across the wider industry.

We’re proud to have Renee and Krushi as part of the Flannery team, and we can’t wait to see what they continue to achieve as they grow their careers with us.

Designed for graduates and early career professionals, school leavers, and apprenticeship achievers, follow the link in the comments to kick-start your career now.

In the Spring of 1984, Caroline Brown first walked into Flannery.

Having started in the home of Paddy and Mary Flannery, she has been part of the family's journey from the very beginning, helping shape the foundations of the business.

42 Years on, she is still an integral part of who we are today.

Thankyou, Caroline.
