Why brake fluid chemistry matters.

At high brake temperatures, the chemistry behind your brake fluid can directly affect pedal feel and consistency.

Borate ester
• Lower compressibility
• More consistent pedal feel
• More controlled response at high temperatures

Vs.

Silicate ester
• Higher compressibility
• Prolonged pedal travel
• Less consistent response as temperatures rise

The difference comes down to how these chemistries behave under extreme conditions.

Borate esters also interact differently with absorbed water, helping maintain a more homogeneous fluid and controlled braking response.

This is why P1 & GT use borate-ester technology.

Every component has to earn its place on the car. Brake fluid is no exception.

Hear Christopher Simmons, Director of Performance at Chip Ganassi Racing, explain what his team demands from a racing brake fluid and why Halo P1 met those standards.

A conversation about engineering decisions, consistency and the confidence to perform when every lap counts.

Did you know this about brake-by-wire?

Despite the move towards brake-by-wire technology, most production systems still rely on hydraulic brake fluid to generate braking force.

Whilst the driver's input is transmitted electronically, the braking force itself is still typically generated hydraulically using brake fluid.

As vehicle braking systems continue to evolve, so too do the demands placed on the fluid behind them.

Brake fluid may not be the most visible component of a vehicle, but it remains a fundamental part of how most modern braking systems operate.

"Fluid is an often-overlooked part of the braking equation."

We couldn't agree with Demon Tweeks Motorsport more.

That's why we're pleased to see them include our P1 in its guide to choosing the right and best racing brake fluid,
recognising its ultra-pure methyl borate ester formulation and 341°C dry boiling point.

If you're looking to understand what really matters when selecting a racing brake fluid, it's well worth a read.

We asked .christopher.driver and for product feedback. They gave us a miniature race instead.

We loved teaming up with for this tongue-in-cheek video ahead of the GT World Challenge Europe at Autodromo Nazionale Monza.

This weekend, Eastalent will be running Halo P1 brake fluid, engineered to deliver the confidence and consistency demanded at the highest level of GT racing.

Best of luck to the whole team including , we'll be cheering you on all weekend. 🏁

Brake fade isn't inevitable.

Many drivers accept longer pedal travel and inconsistent braking as the cost of pushing harder.

Halo P1 doesn't.

Engineered with Fade Resistant Technology™ and a 341°C dry boiling point, P1 delivers braking consistency under the sustained temperatures of race conditions.

Confidence, corner after corner.

Because performance starts with chemistry.

Thruxton delivered another strong result for Team Vertu.

🏆 Tom Ingram – Race 3 Winner

Congratulations to everyone involved. It's great to see another Halo-powered team on the top step.

See you at Knockhill.

"We were extremely impressed with the Halo P1 fluid."

That's how Darren Law, Co-owner of Flying Lizard Motorsports, summed up the results of an extensive back-to-back testing programme.

Following testing under demanding race conditions, Darren shared his experience of using Halo P1 brake fluid:

"Orthene have developed a brake fluid that excels in every aspect. Braking performance is improved, the compressibility of this fluid at high temperatures provides a much harder pedal for the driver. Braking distances stay consistent with minimal fade, which inspires confidence in the driver to keep pushing in extreme conditions."

Thank you to Darren and the entire Flying Lizard Motorsport team for their continued trust and support.

When the McLaren Trophy championship was evaluating brake fluid solutions, they worked with Halo by Orthene to develop a product that met the demands of the race track.

The result was Halo GTM—a DOT 4 racing brake fluid engineered specifically for the championship. That same development programme became the foundation for our newest product: Halo GT.

Built with motorsport expertise. Engineered for those who demand more.
