Happy Birthday, Autobahn! 🚗 In 1926, 🇩🇪 engineers in Frankfurt developed a bold idea: a long-distance multi-lane road linking Hamburg, Frankfurt and Basel. Much of the planned route roughly follows today’s A5 and A7. Only six years later, Germany’s first Autobahn followed in 1932 between Cologne and Bonn, today’s A555.
