A very stylish interloper! 😎🖤
As the veteran cars departed the St James’s Motoring Spectacle on Pall Mall, this beautiful Mercedes-Benz 190 SL slipped through with the roof down.
Black paint, gleaming chrome and those elegant curves. Some cars can turn a simple drive through London into a film scene.
You can almost hear it saying: “Do carry on, chaps. I’m just passing through.” 😂

London traffic with a little more character! 😍🚗
These wonderful veteran cars are heading out of the St James’s Motoring Spectacle on Pall Mall ahead of tomorrow’s London-to-Brighton Veteran Car Run.
Brass lamps, skinny tyres and engines with stories to tell. There’s something special about watching motoring history move under its own power. Huge credit to the owners and crews keeping these machines running for us all to enjoy.

You pop into an art exhibition and come away with a James Hunt story involving a Japanese mechanical monkey! 🐒😂

I grabbed a quick chat with Andrew Marriott, curator of The Art of Motoring exhibition, and we covered some fascinating ground: recording commentary for Rush, managing James Hunt, and returning to Britain with a newly crowned world champion and a rather unusual souvenir.

A brief conversation with a man who has plenty of stories to tell. Enjoy this little slice of motorsport history!

My dream garage is expanding onto the walls! 🎨🚗
While visiting the St James’s Motoring Spectacle, I popped into The Art of Motoring at Iconic Images Gallery on Waterloo Place.
Part of the Royal Automobile Club’s London Motor Week, the exhibition brings together 32 artists, with paintings, drawings, prints and sculpture celebrating motoring’s beauty, history and excitement. Automotive Art Exhibition London
Come and have a look around with me. There’s something rather special about seeing an artist capture the emotion a car can stir.

Thunderbird 4, ready for a trip down Pall Mall! 💛😂

This wonderfully cheerful little machine is a Trojan 200, the British-built version of the Heinkel bubble car, manufactured in Croydon during the early 1960s.

Power comes from a tiny 198cc single-cylinder, four-stroke engine producing around 10bhp. And getting aboard means opening the entire front of the car! 🚪🚗

With its yellow paint, Thunderbird 4 lettering and Union Jack seat, this one was drawing plenty of attention at the St James’s Motoring Spectacle.

This little Goggomobil found its portrait artist! 🎨🚗
Among the crowds at the St James’s Motoring Spectacle on Pall Mall, I spotted capturing this wonderfully characterful little car in watercolours.
It’s a 1964 Goggomobil TS250 Coupé, a German microcar with a rear-mounted 250cc, two-cylinder, two-stroke engine. These diminutive machines offered affordable motoring in post-war Europe, squeezing plenty of personality into a very small package!
Sketchbook in one hand, brush in the other, bringing the scene to life while the show carried on around him. Lovely to watch the painting taking shape!

A bicycle made for two… and suddenly I’ve got “Daisy, Daisy” stuck in my head! 🌼🎶🚲
This young lady’s fabulous yellow period dress added a splash of sunshine to the St James’s Motoring Spectacle on Pall Mall. Among all the wonderful veteran cars, a little pedal power deserved some camera time too! 💛
Anyone else humming along already?
