How much and how long to charge?

303 miles, £37,990 and a mobile rave machine! ⚡️

The Changan Deepal S05 RWD is spacious, practical, loaded with equipment and wrapped around one enormous screen. It also has a 159-litre frunk, 200kW charging and an electric seat that became rather too enthusiastic about welcoming me aboard.

Is this unfamiliar Chinese EV a serious family-SUV contender, or a mobile entertainment centre that happens to drive?

Have you seen new The Grand Tour? How was it?

Do it now!

Top Gear is coming back. The Grand Tour is returning with an entirely new trio. Apparently television has found the keys to the motoring cupboard and discovered there is still money hiding inside.

But can either show work without Clarkson, Hammond and May? Can their chemistry and genuine motoring credibility ever be recreated? More importantly, after Freddie Flintoff’s life-changing accident, should anyone still be chasing bigger, crazier and more dangerous stunts?

YouTube already owns the reviews, challenges, silliness and exploding caravans. If big-budget car television has a future, give us epic driving tours, proper investigations, magnificent documentaries and programmes that celebrate cars, drivers and motoring culture.

I’ve had a proper rant about it in my latest video and article. Have a watch or read, then tell me: should Top Gear and The Grand Tour return, and who should present them?

Jensen Interceptor Returns as 960bhp Track Weapon

Jensen International has revealed the Interceptor GTX, an all-new, track-only prototype previewing future road-going British GTs.

The front-engined, rear-wheel-drive machine uses a supercharged 6.8-litre V8 producing 960bhp, although its bespoke engine can support up to 1,200bhp. An aluminium chassis, hand-formed aluminium body, sequential rear transaxle and adjustable carbon-fibre aerodynamics underpin it, with the rear wing generating more than 350kg of downforce.

Around 80% of its exterior form is intended to reach future production cars. Plans include a road-legal, ultra-performance Interceptor GTR followed by a luxury-focused GT.

Development testing has begun, but Jensen has announced neither prices nor production dates. It is an entirely new car from Jensen International, rather than a continuation model or restomod from the original manufacturer.
