VW T5 – COMPLETE ENGINE SWAP ECU CALIBRATION
Another interesting and challenging job successfully completed at TopGear Tuning London.
This 2004 VW Transporter T5 originally came with the 1.9 TDI PD 105 BHP engine, but after the original engine failed, the customer carried out a complete PD130 ASZ engine conversion.
The replacement setup included:
🔹 Complete ASZ PD130 engine
🔹 PD130 injectors
🔹 Turbocharger
🔹 Engine wiring loom
🔹 Original T5 ECU retained
Simply installing the engine wasn't the end of the job. The original ECU was calibrated for the previous 105 BHP engine and needed a custom ECU calibration to correctly operate the new PD130 setup.
We carried out full diagnostics, read and backed up the original ECU software, and worked through the calibration process to correctly support the new engine hardware while maintaining the vehicle's original ECU integration.

This wasn't about chasing maximum power — the objective was to make the complete engine conversion work properly, reliably and smoothly.

Vauxhall Vivaro 1.6 CDTI – Previous Software Corrected + Stage 1 🚐💨
This Vivaro came to us for Stage 1 tuning with DPF & EGR solutions, but during our initial checks we noticed something wasn’t quite right.
The dashboard was displaying “Engine Failure Hazard”, yet a diagnostic scan initially showed no engine fault codes at all. The customer also explained that the vehicle had previously had the DPF physically removed and appeared to have had an AdBlue solution carried out elsewhere.
Rather than simply modifying an already modified file, we decided to do the job properly.

We backed up the existing ECU software and returned the ECU to its original factory calibration. Once back on stock software, the faults that had previously been hidden became visible — including EGR, exhaust pressure sensor and DPF efficiency faults.
After carrying out the required resets and checks, a completely fresh calibration was prepared:

🔹 DPF Software Solution
🔹 EGR Software Solution
🔹 AdBlue/SCR Software Solution
🔹 Previous incorrect software removed
🔹 ECU rebuilt from a clean original file
🔹 Full diagnostic check before & after

Final result: no warning messages, no engine management faults and the van is running exactly as it should — with the added performance from Stage 1.

RANGE ROVER VELAR D240 – STAGE 1 REMAP!
Another job completed by TopGear Tuning London
This Range Rover Velar 2.0D 240 BHP came to us with performance concerns following previous exhaust work.
Before carrying out the remap, we performed a comprehensive vehicle health check to ensure everything was operating correctly.

Diagnostic findings:
A previous turbo underboost fault and MAP/MAF correlation fault were investigated. Neither returned during our stationary diagnostic checks.
The only remaining engine fault was related to the cylinder 1 glow plug, which was reported to the customer.
The result: A Stage 1 calibration designed to improve power delivery, torque and throttle response.

Honda Accord 2.2 i-CTDi – Correcting a Previous Remap!
This Honda Accord 2.2 i-CTDi came to us after a previous Stage 1 remap and EGR delete carried out elsewhere. Unfortunately, the calibration was incorrect and the DPF solution had not been properly applied, leading to serious issues. As a result, the engine and turbo failed and had to be replaced.
With the replacement engine and brand-new turbo installed, it was time to do the software properly.

This Audi A8 3.0 TDI 233bhp arrived at TopGear Tuning London after having a poor-quality remap carried out elsewhere. The vehicle wasn't performing as expected, so we carried out a full inspection before correcting the software.

Another vehicle rescued by TopGear Tuning London
This Vauxhall Astra J 1.6 CDTi came to us after receiving a poor-quality Stage 1 remap with DPF & EGR delete from another tuner.
The customer complained that the vehicle wouldn't hold power properly and the driving experience was inconsistent.

Ford Transit Courier – Speed Limiter Removal & Stage 1 Remap Successfully Completed!

This 2019 Ford Transit Courier came to us after a Ford dealer software update during a safety recall restored the factory 70 mph speed limiter.
After carrying out detailed diagnostics and module configuration, we successfully removed the speed limiter and completed a Stage 1 ECU remap, giving the van noticeably better performance and drivability.
