Your car isn't broken, winter's just bullying it. Cold tires lose air pressure, and a softer tire squishes more against the road, that's rolling resistance. More of it means your engine burns extra fuel just to keep the wheels turning at the same speed. Cold air is also denser than warm air, packing more oxygen molecules into the same space, so the engine's computer dumps in more fuel to keep the air/fuel ratio balanced. The denser air means a richer mixture means more gas burned for the same drive. Then your seat heaters, defroster, and blower fan start sipping power from the alternator, which makes the engine spin harder to keep that electrical demand fed. Add it all up and you get sluggish warm ups, thicker air, and clingy electronics.
