π‘οΈ Tyre pressure warning light on during a cold morning in Hammersmith? Cold air makes tyres lose pressure, even with no puncture.
β
As a rough guide, pressure drops about 1 psi for every 5 to 6Β°C the temperature falls
β
Check pressures once a month and before long journeys, with the tyres cold
β
Use the figures in your handbook, inside the fuel flap or on the driver's door pillar
β
Petrol station air lines work fine, but a cheap gauge of your own is more accurate
β οΈ Low pressure wears tyres faster, increases fuel use and makes braking and steering less sharp
β οΈ If one tyre keeps losing air after topping up, it's probably a slow puncture
Top up at a forecourt before you join the A4 at Hammersmith Broadway or the flyover. If a tyre keeps going down, or is flat when you get back to the car, call us. We'll come to you and repair or replace it.
