After a very long day of expensive travel, I came home with these three bits for the project. Two anchor points for the ejection seat leg restraints, and a personal dinghy knife. I'm pleased with the purchases, but it was a long, hard day starting with my train being cancelled. Good to meet some friends and catch up though.

Wrecks and Relics 30th edition has just hit my doormat. I find that my project is mentioned twice with the usual write up. This was done without my knowledge or contextual approval. While it is great to be recognised by this prestigeous publication, there is a very basic error in the text. My project is basically a "new build" replica of WZ608 using a couple of original parts from 608 and other donor pods. It is NOT the original pod from Rayleigh that I am restoring. I have no connection to the former collection at Rayleigh other than a shared serial number.

Back to working on the brake valve. I can't put it off any longer! I have to drill out and re- tap three sheared mounting bolts. In the meantime, this is the activation arm before restoring.

Wiper arm almost complete. New 2BA nylock nut on the arm tensioner and new 1/4 BSF castle nut for the main mounting. Upon assembly I found that the end of the spring has corroded off making it too short. On the hunt for a suitable bit of spring steel. I have a suitable piece of rubber to make a replica wiper blade which I'm informed are as rare as hens teeth!
