One of those little satisfying jobs for a bank holiday Monday. Pre war Alta Internal door catch release had broken off many years ago, so a new end for the arm shaped up and then welded and dressed in place whilst retaining the original paint.

In a modern world it’s easy to just send a link with a mountain of photos for a completed restoration. Handing it over with a physical album is that last finishing touch to complete a project.

As we attempt to wind down after a rather manic year, I’d just like to take a moment to wish all our customers and friends and suppliers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We very much look forward to sharing some exciting projects with you all in 2026.

A little sneak peak of our latest
restoration, just undergoing the final finishing touches prior to delivery. Starting with a very sorry 1948 Topolino B, fabrication completed in house, and whilst we don’t do paintwork ourselves it’s always a pleasure to join forces with who knocked it out of the park. Then back to us for final assembly. It’s just as lovely underneath as ontop… more of that to follow!

Mechanical recommission complete for this beautiful Mini Cooper RSP.
The car was bought new by a duke, purchased unused in 1991 off said duke, driven back to west wales, one run for fish and chips at the local beach (fuel receipt in with the history!) and subsequently parked in 1992 having covered just 370 miles!

After a very good clean, carb rebuild, fuel pump rebuild, tank flush, fuel sender rebuild, a couple of rebuilt wheel cylinders and a service/ fluids, she’s done a couple of miles road testing and is now returned to the owner.

Amazing seeing such an original car, and being able to study just how they were finished at the factory and actually seeing how overrestored many minis are now!

The RSP was a limited edition model launched in 1990 that revived the Mini Cooper nameplate after a 21-year absence, there were just 1650 Mini Cooper rsp’s produced (1050 uk cars)

Dashboard refurbish and full rewire underway in period cotton braided wire. Whilst replacement looms are available, this car had various period upgrades, so rather than buying a loom and altering it it was more viable to simply start from scratch.
