Vacancy for Approved Driving Instructor - Driving Adviser
Due to a period of planned expansion, we have a rare and exciting opportunity for an ambitious Approved Driving Instructor to join our team of Driving Advisers to conduct assessment of Fitness to Drive and passenger access assessments for people with health related changes to their ability to drive or travel as a passenger.
Assessment of Fitness to Drive is a dynamic and evolving field so demands a commitment to professional excellence, a proven record of professional development, as well as an ambition to develop your career within the driving assessment sector.
You will be an experienced and highly motivated DVSA Approved Driving Instructor and have an ability to communicate effectively with service users, health professionals and major stakeholders including DVLA, Motability and the police, as well as having a passion for developing services in line with service user and stakeholder needs.
You will be able to apply your road safety expertise to assess for safety during on-road assessment whilst accompanied by a Clinician, and ideally will have experience of working with drivers requiring vehicle adaptation.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and will have a caring approach towards clients and their families. A good level of IT skills, including MS Word, is required, as well as experience of report writing and completion of detailed working records.
You will have a positive, flexible and committed approach to your work and be ambitious to develop your long term career within this specialist role and will be supported to achieve a mandatory academic qualification in Driving Assessment and Outdoor Mobility within the first 5 years of employment, all of which will be fully funded.
This is a permanent position initially for 1 day per week (7.5 hours) with future opportunities for career progression. You will also have opportunity to support the development of our specialist driver training services across Cheshire & Wirral on a self-employed basis using adapted vehicles provided and fully funded.
