⚠️ Last Minute End of Lease Save! ⚠️

This set of Cupra diamond cut wheels arrived with us at the last minute before the vehicle was due to be handed back at the end of its lease.

Unfortunately, a third-party “smart repair” had already been attempted and came very close to ruining the wheels completely. Diamond cut wheels cannot be correctly repaired with abrasive methods, silver paint, or roadside cosmetic fixes. Once the original profile of the wheel has been altered, there is often no way back.

Thankfully, these still had enough material remaining for us to carry out a proper CNC diamond cut refurbishment and get them looking as they should before inspection.

If you’re approaching the end of a lease agreement, don’t leave wheel repairs until the last minute and be very careful who you trust with diamond cut wheels. A cheap cosmetic repair today could result in expensive charges tomorrow.

MG ZS wheels with us last week for Diamond Cut refurbishment after some pretty heavy kerb damage and corrosion had started setting in 🔧✨

These modern diamond cut finishes don’t take long to deteriorate once the lacquer is breached, especially with daily use and the UK weather 🌧️

Our team carried out the correct refurbishment process using our in-house CNC lathe to bring these wheels back up to standard 👌

Orbit Grey sets absolutely flying out this week 🔥

This BMW 335d came to us looking for a Diamond Cut refurbishment, however on inspection it became clear the wheels had previously been recut elsewhere with too much material already removed 😬

Unfortunately once a wheel has been excessively cut there simply isn’t enough metal left for another safe recut. Rather than compromise the wheel, our client opted for a full Powder Coat refurbishment in Orbit Grey… and what a choice 👌

Clean, durable and a perfect OEM+ finish 💨

This is exactly why proper diamond cutting matters. Every unnecessary cut removes material forever.

Another week, another few calls telling us “Joe Blogs down the road is cheaper…” 🤷🏻‍♂️

Today’s client brought us a set of VW Tiguan diamond cut wheels previously “refurbed” elsewhere. Back within week 1 with lacquer peel… and by the time they reached us the damage was unreal.

⚠️ Heavily overcut wheels⚠️ Corrosion already setting back in⚠️ Wheel mounting hub coated over⚠️ Uneven wheel profile⚠️ Far too much metal removed from the face

This is exactly why cheap diamond cut repairs can end up costing more in the long run. Diamond cut wheels only have a limited amount of material that can safely be removed. Once it’s gone… it’s gone.

Unfortunately due to the previous damage we could no longer offer a proper diamond cut refurb, so our client opted for a full powder coat refurbishment in Orbit Grey instead 🔥

Cheapest isn’t always best. There is always a reason and If you want the cheapest, be prepared for shortcuts, poor prep and potentially ruining an expensive set of wheels.

These products can:
• Contaminate the surface
• Affect prep stages
• Compromise the final coating finish

🚗 Buying a new car? Watch out for that wheel insurance upsell… 👀

We had a Cupra in with us after an “approved” insurance repair… and honestly, it was everything we warn about ❌

🔧 What we found:

* Damage aggressively ground out
* Silver paint used to “replicate” a diamond cut finish
* No CNC lathe work involved
* Overspray across the wheel
* Incorrect profile left behind

👉 This is the reality with a lot of wheel insurance policies — they often only cover mobile cosmetic repairs, which are NOT suitable for diamond cut wheels.

💡 Fact:
A true diamond cut finish can only be achieved on a CNC lathe. Anything else is just a painted imitation… and it won’t last.

⚠️ Go cheap, go twice.
That “free” or “included” insurance repair? It can actually cost you more long-term by ruining the wheel’s profile and limiting future refurb options.

🚗 BMW 5 Series in the workshop this week 🚗

A full set brought in with the owner reporting slow air loss. On inspection, the cause was clear — untreated kerb damage had led to corrosion on the bead seat, allowing air to seep out between the tyre and the wheel.

This isn’t something a quick fix will solve.
✔️ Full strip back to bare metal
