As the MRC elves scramble to bring happiness to as many customers as possible this festive season — cutting, grinding and bending, then sending cages off to powder coat before they’re returned, wrapped and readied for dispatch on the MRC sleigh — we pause for a moment to appreciate our own work in its raw, unpainted form...

This Audi TT Mk2 4-point cage is heading to Canada 🇨🇦
A well-earned gift to its owner from himself — fresh from a recent design update, so it's currently unique 👌🏻

Santa’s bending over backwards to deliver as many as possible.

But seriously —
Isn’t this a pretty cage? 😍🎁🎄

November turned into the Month of Hondas here…
FN2 ➝ EP2/EP3 ➝ and wrapping up with this EG hatch. Time machine in reverse. 😅

More photos + cage angles are up on the site 👇

We had an EJ coupe in last year, so getting the chance to draw direct comparisons in their geometry was interesting.

Anything you see on the website listing, we can recreate — and if you’ve got questions or plans for your own EG/EJ build, just fire ahead 🤓”**

November was definitely the month of Honda's. I mean yeah, there were other marques in the mix but we literally spanned the generations lately. And we must've had our time machine in reverse gear as we did it backwards. Starting with the FN2, then the EP2/3 and finishing up with this EG Hatch.

You can see a few more angles of the cage on the site here 👇
https://motorsportrollcages.com/product/honda-civic-ej-coupe-weld-in/

We had an EJ coupe in the workshop about a year ago, so it was interesting to draw some direct comparisons in geometry between it and the EG.

As always, we can recreate all the features listed on the site — and if you’ve any extra questions or want something a bit different, just fire ahead 🤓

Bit of a whoops…
We built this Mini R60 full cage earlier in the year — a recreation of the old Prodrive Recce cars — and I only realised yesterday that it was never listed on the website.
Elite marketing from me, as usual. 😅

Our customer wanted the Prodrive recce vibe… so we took the idea and refined it.
Same concept, but with MRC fit, finish and attention to detail — and still fully usable with a complete interior.

Full details now live on the site 👇

Whoopsee ! …
We actually built this Mini R60 full cage earlier in the year — a proper recreation of the Prodrive Recce cars — and just today I realised we never even listed it on the website.
Top-tier marketing skills on display as always. 😅

For anyone who doesn’t know the backstory: Prodrive built a small run of R60 Cooper-S All4 Rally Recce cars for world rally crews to make their pace notes. Proper machines as far as a Recce goes — but fairly basic cages, just enough safety for pressing on without going full rally pace.

Our customer wanted one recreated… so we took the concept and, well… let’s just say we refined it.
Same goal, but with MRC fit, finish and Attention To Detail (ATD … how I refer to my OCD !)
A more complete, better-built take on the original recce setup — and still fully usable with a complete interior.

The full listing is finally (and belatedly!) live on the site:

If you’re running an R60 and want something inspired by the Prodrive concept — but built to a higher standard — have a look.
As always, shout if you need advice. There are no stupid questions… 😉

The EP3 Type R Civic as a track toy is getting to be a bit of a rare sight these days, just as folks seem to be catching on to the EP2 (that's Honda-speak for the 1600 Type S)... nowadays available at really handy money and a great beginner's platform.

You'll find the options for these cages here. We've kept it simple...

https://motorsportrollcages.com/product/civic-ep3-ep2-full-bolt-in/

This particular cage is built for a driver who wants to dip in and out of Track Days, Sprints and Hillclimbs — and if/when he progresses further, it’ll stand him in good stead for stage rallying too.

The standard listing will cover most setups, but you can add to the spec if you like. No need to add tubes for the sake of it. Just a clean, balanced design: through the dash, not too intrusive, and only minor trimming needed.

We build a lot, like... A LOT of Mini cages. Most go to various racing series where the Regs require a Bolt-in cage. Some go rallying and this is where it really makes sense to have a fully weld-in cage. Most people probably don't even realise that many of our cages are available either as a bolt-in item OR as a weld-in kit.

You'll find most of what you need Mini related here:

https://motorsportrollcages.com/product-category/mini/

Heck, some folks don't even know that we actually install the cages here too. But of course, that's when we design the cages, when we actually have our hands on the cars. None of your computer aided tom foolery here. Just full scale templates , jigs and an eye for detail 🤓

This past week we happened to be asked for a weld-in installation in this R50 Cooper, destined for single-venue rallying North and South of Ireland.

It's just the essentials, neatly finished and fitting exactly as our very popular bolt-in cage.

We're always happy to offer advice so if you'd like some pointers just drop us an email to:

It's been a while... QUITE a while ... But we've been busy, you see! ☺️

New cars, new creations and even some totally reimagined cages that we already had listed.

This Mk6 Fiesta Rallycross contender is the very latest. You can expect to see lots more images of what we've been up to these past months in the coming days.

My approach to marketing appears to be as if our products and services are a closely guarded secret. We have all these excellent products and we tell... nobody (present company excepted)

Here's just a few of the updates to our Porsche listings. Including the very excellent 992 cage pictured here. Also just added today are the 4pt cages for the 996-7 that accommodates the full interior (yes, even the Bose speaker box and another one that clears the rear seats)...

But don't tell anyone. Let's just keep it between us! ;)
