For those of you under the new Graduated Driving Licence legislation, here is a link to download the app.

The app costs £17, and contains the modules you must complete before you can apply for your driving test.

You can link your app with your instructor or supervising driver so each module is marked as completed under supervision.

🛞 OCTOBER IS TYRE SAFETY MONTH — IT’S TIME TO ACT! 🛞

Your tyres are the only part of your vehicle in contact with the road, so keeping them safe, legal and serviceable is essential. Worn or damaged tyres can reduce steering control and grip, increase stopping distances and make it harder to remain in control—particularly on wet roads.

Remember ACT.

✅ A — Air pressure
Check pressures when the tyres are cold and use the figures recommended by your vehicle manufacturer.

✅ C — Condition
Look carefully for cuts, cracks, bulges, embedded objects and uneven wear.

✅ T — Tread
The legal minimum tread depth is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre and around its entire circumference.

A tyre below the legal limit could result in a fine of up to £2,500 and three penalty points—per tyre.

As the graphic shows, a tyre with only 2mm of tread is already approximately 94% worn. Don’t wait until your tyres reach the legal minimum before taking action.

Checking all four tyres—and the spare—takes only a few minutes. Those few minutes could improve your grip, shorten your stopping distance and help prevent a collision.

This Tyre Safety Month, take a few minutes and ACT. Safe tyres save lives.

🚗 Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) launches tomorrow. 🚙

🤔 Why is it needed? 👇🏽

Passing your driving test is an important milestone, but the first months and years behind the wheel are when drivers gain much of their real-world experience.

Young drivers are disproportionately represented in fatal and serious road traffic collisions. GDL has been introduced to support learner and newly qualified drivers during this higher-risk period, helping them build skills, experience and confidence safely.

By taking a phased approach to learning and driving, GDL aims to make our roads safer for everyone.
