Internal works continue on the DB2/4 MK2 'Notchback'.

On this Mark 2 version, the large luggage platform over the rear axle was turned into two rudimentary seats.

The large rear door merges harmoniously with the elegant coupé lines.

The strikingly pretty shape of the DB2, with its curving roof and sweeping wings, was thanks to the Lagonda stylist Frank Feeley. With hints of Italian influences, the clean, understated lines were a stark contrast to the previous DB1 model.

For easy maintenance, Feeley arranged for the entire front end to fold forward.

The DB2 model introduced the unmistakable 'classic' Aston Martin grille shape.

Another of our Aston Martin DB2 restorations.

This DB2 Saloon was first registered on 22nd April 1953.
Chassis No: LML 50/262.
These photographs were taken at the beginning of the DB2 restoration journey, showing the DB2 in the fabrication stage.

The DB2 made its first appearance at the New York Motor Show in April 1950. The unique feature of the DB2 was the large front-hinged, single-piece bonnet shell. The feature made it convenient to access the 2.6-litre, 6-cylinder, twin overhead cam engine.

More updates to follow.

SOLD

The Aston Martin V8 holds a remarkable place in the marque's history, serving as the foundation for three decades of model evolution. Its introduction marked a significant turning point, influencing the design and engineering of subsequent Aston Martin cars.

The DBS V8's engine propelled Aston Martin into the exclusive realm of supercars, establishing it as the fastest production car of its era.
This V8 powerplant became synonymous with the brand, maintaining its status as the longest-produced engine in the Aston Martin line-up until 1989.

Registered in March 1971, this particular DBS V8 boasts a distinguished ownership history. Over the years, it has had four registered keepers, with one devoted owner cherishing the car for more than 33 years.

The V8 underwent a 2,500-hour restoration by ROE, completed in 2022, which included a full respray in its original colour, Dubonnet Rosso, with Connolly Vaumol leather.
The fully documented restoration of the V8 is presented in a photographic album, bound in the matching leather of the car.

The prestige of the V8 model was further underscored by its feature in the July 2025 edition of Classic & Sports Car magazine. Its commanding presence is evident both on public roads and at track events, reflecting the car's unique blend of performance and style.

We are actively seeking similar examples.

Thursday Throwback.

A look back at a truly memorable midsummer experience at one of the most prestigious events on the automotive calendar: Concours of Elegance.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Hampton Court Palace, the event seamlessly blends quintessential English elegance with a remarkable array of rare and unique motor vehicles from around the world.

2025 proved to be a milestone for us at Richards of England, as it was the first time one of our clients' cars was accepted into the main Concours event.
The 1964 Aston Martin DB5, resplendent in its Sierra Blue livery, stood among 80 of the world's rarest cars, its presence made more special following a painstaking restoration lasting two and a half years.
