Round 3 results

The BMMC April Figure of Eight event attracted an entry of 51, and again some great weather.
Class Sa got the meeting underway with the closest result of the day, a win for William Horton in the Smart Roadster, from Jack Twomey in his MGZR by 0.01sec!. Richard Banks was 3rd and John Denman 4th in their MGZR’s, with newcomer Andrew Jones 5th in his Vauxhall Adam Slam ( his wife’s shopping car he says!).
Steve Barrow snatched the win in Class 1A in his Eco Boost Fiesta on the final run, from the Mini of Graham Harvey in second, by 0.06secs, both of them just under the old Class Record!
Another Class record was “smashed” in 1b by the Clio Sport of Mike Gardiner, taking nearly 1.5 seconds off the old Honda S2000 record! Second was the MX5 of Matt Dooner.
Lee Bradford took the win in 1C in the Porsche Cayman with Andrew Webb’s MX5 second, and Lee’s co driver in the Porsche, Ian Poole, third. Fourth was the Yaris GR of Ivor Williams.
Simon Price claimed first in 2B, from co driver Paul Evans, with Justin Rancins 3rd, all in Westfields.
David Whiteley won the Elise scrap in 2L from Mark Sturman in 2nd.
A close, 3 car, MX5 turbo Class 1C, went to Charlotte Ward, from Stuart Hadley, with Andrew Ward third.
John Bradburn took the win from co driver Colin Quigley in the Radical in the Libre Class. Chris Horton won his family FF1600 scrap again from Ewan in the Van Diemen RF88. FTD went to the Empire of Mike White with a time of 52.49.

Sadly as this bulletin goes out we have to report that the S&HMC event on May 31st has had to be cancelled as it was well down on entry numbers at only 22, which with all the costs involved would probably have been about a £2500 loss for the club.

The Championship will, as in the regulations still be best 7 to count, but now from the 10 events, not the original 11.
Just to remind all entrants that getting entry forms in early, even if payment is delayed.
Hope to see as many of you as possible at Round 4, the SDCC event, on May 17th, which does have a very good entry,
Steve Wood
