Good news campervan owners!
The DVLA seem to have listened and changed the process a little, no longer needing an awning rail or those dodgy graphics and accepting poptop roofs!
Externally your van now only needs to have;
- 2+ windows
- a separate door access to the rear
- a high top OR poptop!
Along with the internal list;
- seats and a table
- sleeping accommodation, which may be converted from the seats
- cooking facilities
- storage facilities
However, as the DVLA do not deal directly with speed limits, as long as your van is under 3.05t unladen and is a campervan build out you will be able to appeal and overturn any tickets for speeding as a commercial vehicle when you are adhering to standard limits.
