Complex dent repairs can be carried out on satin or matte finish paintwork.
This new Kia EV6 has some pretty bad damage on the near side rear door, a deep large dent on the arch going through 2 bodylines, followed by several long creases along the door.
The problem with satin or matte finished lacquer is you can’t polish it, the more you touch it, it alters the sheen of it and makes it look off.
This can be a problem with both dent repairs and bodyshop repairs.
If this went through a bodyshop repair it would be extremely expensive and rightly so, matching the exact gloss level has its issues, and you can’t just paint that damaged panel, blends need to be done, again adding to the size and cost of the job.
With when tapping down or glue pulling, this can mark the paint.
Usually we can just polish those off if it was gloss lacquer, but obviously we can’t do that on this job.
But with cold glue and access to the back of the panel, and applying our own PPF, we can repair dents and damage like this, and avoid that costly repaint.
There was a few minor marks and chip on the edge which the customer was happy to touch in considering what it would save.
Despite being told elsewhere it can’t be done, we got the result the owner was looking for, over the moon and leaving us a 5 Star Google review.
Damage and complexity for a repair like this starts from £495+vat and can involve several cost-increasing factors.
While ball park figures can be given via images, for an accurate quote we will always ask to see the damage in person.
