Today was a fantastic day for my student. She passed her test and I couldn’t be more proud.
All the hard work, barriers knocked down, and learning that took place has made it all worthwhile to now say you can drive unsupervised and on your own. Definitely going to miss the conversations and chats we had but so happy to see you become a safe confident driver, except the lesson before the test, but we will keep that to ourselves 😊
Enjoy the freedom and I look forward to taking you out in your car in the near future.

From today, only learners will be able to book driving tests.

We’ve made this change to:

Clampdown on test reselling and exploitation by third parties ⛔

Make sure tests are accessible only to learners 🔐

Provide a fairer booking system ✅

Information regarding swapping tests between learners, that comes into effect from 12th May

You may be able to swap your car driving test with another learner driver by phone if you both already have a test booked and want each other's test slot.

📢 Remember that from tomorrow (31 March), you will only be able to make 2 changes to a car driving test booking.

A change counts as:
✅ changing the date or time
✅ changing the test centre
✅ swapping your appointment with another learner who has a test booked

If you need to make more changes after you have used your 2 changes, you will need to cancel your test and book a new one.

We’re putting learners in control of their car driving test bookings 🚘

If you’ve got a booking or you’ll be looking for a test soon, make a note of these dates 📅

31 March 2026 – only 2 changes can be made to a booking

12 May 2026 – only learners are allowed to book a test and make changes

9 June 2026 – learners can move their booked test only to nearby centres

By changing who can book car and change driving tests, we’re aiming to reduce the re-selling of driving tests, giving the power back to learners 💪

Time to share some happy news 😊
It gives me great pleasure to say that Louis passed his driving test this morning with just a few driving faults.
It was a pleasure teaching you and seeing the confidence grow, and now you can go car shopping and enjoy the freedom that it now brings.
I wish you all the success in the future and hope to hear you soon on the radio. Thanks for being a brilliant student, and mum and dad for their help along the way

We've launched a new Road Safety Strategy, aiming to cut deaths and serious injuries on Britain’s roads by 65% by 2035.

Key points include:
- tougher action on drink driving
- minimum learning periods for learner drivers
- mandatory eye tests for older drivers

We're committed to doing what it takes to save thousands of lives and ease pressure on the NHS.

Our new Road Safety Strategy is a major step towards safer roads and stronger communities.

First day back at work today and Ben made it all worthwhile, like he has in all his lessons.
Congratulations Ben on a great first time post today in Leighton Buzzard in freezing conditions. Thanks to mum and dad over the Xmas period for all the extra practice as it definitely paid off.
